Alliard was born as the child of two cultists named Harragwin Terpin and Allsima Terpin. As an only child Alliard depended heavily on his parents approval. Because of this he devoted himself to the teachings of the al'kutra cult. The Al'Kutra cult believes in dark spirits who roam the earth and influence both mayor and minor events. They praise the spirits in hopes of gaining their approval and being spared the misery of their misschief. At 16 his parents and the other cultists believed it best that Alliard would be sacrificed to the spirits because bad luck would follow him wherever he went as a child. However he managed to escape and set sail as a crew member with a merchant ship headed towards the Highlands. Here he hopes to build a simple and quiet life for himself far away from madness and insanity.
