  1. Tristan was born on a farm on the outskirts of civilization. His parents were field hands, working day and night to make sure that Tristan led as best a life he could, while teaching him the craft of agriculture in the process. Surrounded by family and friends, Tristan was seemingly where he belonged, though in his mind, he couldn't shake the curiosity of the wider world, asking every travelling merchant he came across about it. While he felt safe in his small village, he also felt trapped, and needed an escape. He would hear of Mages and their seemingly incredible feats, which always filled him with wonder. Were it not for all the stories and accounts, he might not have believed it himself. He would never miss an opportunity to hear more about them, but, much to his chagrin, it was almost never something concrete. But, nonetheless, he made the decision to one day become one himself. Surely, this would allow him to do as he pleased, and travel as he wanted? He had made up his mind. Once he got through the rudimentary education available to him, he would make his plans to leave the village known. Both friends and family were worried, but at the same time supported him as best they could. His parents got him a job at the same farm they worked on, hoping that he may earn enough to be able to pay for the journey to civilization. After some years of hard work, Tristan finally made enough money to be able to pay for a carriage to Oren, where he hoped to be able to get closer to achieving his dream.
