I was hoping this day would come. 

Albert's face beamed with a wide grin! The day would soon come that all would know him to be a ritter! His ancestors will most assuredly be proud!

Roland von Wesenburg smiles warmly at the promotion of his kin. Food and song bolster within the Sturmweber manor this evening.

The Erstkanzler donned the green dye across his body, ready to fight for his Prince! 

"LOS GEHTS! LOS GEHTS! LOS GEHTS!"

 

Upon reading the missive, Tulgakhan wonders to himself whether or not this will affect his people's excessive hunting practices.

Tulgakhan rushes around the encampment himself, helping to prepare for their honored guests. Once he found free time, the Khan took to his reed and ink, drafting an outline for a grand speech. His common had improved greatly over the years, so this was his chance to put it to use.

Tulga Khan begins making the many hot pots and stews to satisfy his people. An array of bountiful meals are prepared for this occasion. 

Roland von Wesenburg began sharpening the kriegsmesser he had not used in battle since the Frankland Campaigns. The time drew nearer for war.

The young squire, Albert Barclay, practices his sword dancing, hoping to impress Sir Varik in the field of battle.

"The Eagle and the Tower, forged through blood and kin. What a momentous day it shall be!" Roland was elated to see this union finally come to fruition.

Happy Easter! He is risen!

Upon sight of this missive, the Baron of Wesenburg's face scrunches, almost as if there was a pain within him. He began muttering to himself. "This is no place for a young fawn. Has the Stag truly lost its way? No, no I won't believe it." Almost instantly, he begins writing something down on parchment at the desk within his study.

Roland von Wesenburg cheers with his family, enjoying ale and merriment after reading the official missive! 

"WER RASTET, DER ROSTET!"

A formal letter is sent across the realm of Aevos, appealing to the nomadic and stationary tribal peoples. The following missive is written in Common, with minor grammatical errors.

San bain uu, fellow people of the land.

I send you this parchment with good tidings and good fortune. It is of great importance to me, as galyn takhilch of clan Tungkhuidai that I emphasize the value of a bountiful hunt. For many moons, my people have hunted and gathered many game animals and sold their precious flesh and meat to others, or fed our own families. However, in traditional Turghit fashion, such an excursion is better when shared with others of the same mind and heart. That is why, my clan, my people, and myself, extend this offering to you all in the hopes you will accept. We would like to host a nerge across the lands of Aevos.
 

A nerge is a massive hunting expedition that involves a large encirclement of the land, followed by an enclosure of this circle, and as the hunters slowly reach the middle, they kill whatever game they find. When the nerge is finished, and the clans meet at the center, a feast is held with some of the bounty earned that day. The rest is either stored or sold by those who hunted it.

If you are interested, please do not hesitate to send me a letter upon the wing.

I think you will find that making policy for things that have not happened is a lot harder to convince people of than for things that have happened.

You can tell a community 'dont do this and dont do that', setting rules up so the staff show there is accountability, and that's normal. However, when gray area subjects come up that spark debate, and official policy is written and established to combat it, you will continuously be closing loopholes, creating definitions for what is or what isn't rule breaking, and it will never stop. On and on, more rules for specific things. Hell, you may even go back years later and amend the rule because it just didn't make sense in the long run.

An extreme rabbit hole to explore, I know, but this is what many people fear; their RP being policed so heavily that they must walk on eggshells for everything, doubt everything, and question themselves to a point that RP is no longer enjoyable. This is easily seen IRL too, all over social media and so on.

I believe this topic has been done to death at this point, so this is likely my last response to this thread lol

it seems more unrealistic to me that a character unnaturally likes everyone for no reason other than "my skygod has to or else it's breaking rules"
idk just seems silly to be bannable offense that a character wants to avoid someone for being homosexual in rp

if characters are avoiding other characters that are played by IRL homosexuals or what have you for ooc reasons, then yes that is most definitely a bad thing

Roland stood by his friend, reading the missive as well. "Couldn't agree more, my friend. Gives me solace to live in a truly faithful nation such as ours. May God smite me with illness and death, lest I decide to leave it once more."

"Never a moment of doubt with His Holiness. I aspire to be so wise one day."
Albert returned to reading his alchemical notes, studying before his next session.

"Gott mit uns", a young Albert exclaimed upon reading the missive.

A one Roland von Sturmweber awoke to this missive in his letterbox, awaiting to be unsealed. Having prepared breakfast, the Ertskanzler kicked his feet up on the table, enjoying a morning cigarette and coffee. As he continued to read however, the man cracked a slight grin, then a hearty chuckle. Laying the paper down, he took one more drag from the cigarette, tapping the ashes into a glass dish.

"More the reason to move, I suppose."

Without much regard, he tore up the missive and moved on to the next bit of news for the day.

The Third Kurultai

A missive is posted around Aevos with the Turghit symbol, and an excerpt of text underneath, mostly written in broken Common, but with some legible Turgish scattered in. It was clear whoever wrote this was not an avid speaker of the former.

Sain bain uu.

Hosting a third kurultai for all Turghit and kin, and friends. We plan to discuss about future of Turghit leadership and settlements. Also, talk about how to best combat evil.
