In the upcoming years, Urguan’s finest tradesmen will be tested as they will face an ever-increasing tide of work orders for the war efforts. In order to ease the calloused hands of our laborers, our workforce will provide materials for the workers, and even our soldiers, to aid them in creating specialized tools of their chosen trades, be it war or smithing. Stock tools and arms are not acceptable for our most distinguished artisans, and only the best are to be used to quell this threat.

Meet in the workforce hall on the assigned date with your skills at the ready-to-shape tools worthy of the Brathmordakin’s chosen.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Alchemy

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Alchemy is a culmination of different practices and methods by which to destroy existing material, and return them to their most basic forms, so that they may ultimately be molded together with each other in order to create something new entirely. This art has been shaped and refined with different creations and variations as it passes from one generation to the next.

Practice of Alchemy, starts with the material alphabet, a collection of all known symbols and their attributed signs that make up each and every bit of flora and fauna in some way. These symbols are to be obtained as raw material through a process coined as 'Extraction.' This process requires a practitioner to liquify, crush, dehydrate, or even burn their prospective material source, which is commonly seen in the form of rare flora.  Once the item has been reduced to mere specks of dust, the practitioner may then find themselves using another skill of the art, an ability that relies on the users eyesight, to search said remnants for the small symbols found in the very fabric of the world around them.

These symbols are usually labeled in a set of pairs, each one, being a direct opposite to its counterpart, such as: Agility & Impediment; Balance & Instability; Blindness & Clarity; etc.

Each symbol, based on the method used to extract it, is conjoined with a respective sign, which is a raw description of the element it exhibits its existence from. This includes: Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Aether, and Mundane. Mundane, being a symbol whose sign has been stripped due to the process taken during extraction.

Finally, the prospective alchemist is able to take a collection of symbols, mix them together in a base, and formulate a final product, which can by anything from special salves and oils, to potions and draughts, to glowing artificial gems, to even the blood of a machine.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

There are several variations of the standard art of alchemy which are withheld from the average alchemist due to the potential danger they may hold in the wrong hands, and as such, certain groups rarely let slip the recipes and techniques required to practice such.

Of the rarer categories, there is:

Tawkins: which is a mostly taboo variant of alchemy which focuses on molding the very flesh of a being to better suit the needs of the alchemist. One may even create an new being born of sculpted flesh, if they so choose.

Animatii: The art of binding life to machine. the smaller, more finely tuned of a pair, Animatii allows the practitioner to feed a machine with specially made alchemic blood, in order to bring it to life. Its uses range from replacement of limbs, small robotic creatures, or even a fully grown, sentient humanoid born of metal and oil.

Smoggers: The 'Older brother' of Animatii. its techniques are similar in nature, but true life cannot be derived from its usage. The size of this variation is limited in its minimum extremes, as such, smaller, more complex craftworks are impossible. This variation is mostly used in industrialization of various aspects of life, such as walking castles or automatic looms.

Some sub-categories, while still being rare in their own respects, are much more widespread and simpler to obtain, allowing for keen alchemists to find replicatable detailed recipes, without requiring a knowledgeable alchemist to help them understand the topic more in depth.

These categories include, but are not limited to:

Lectorate alchemy: a mixture of just about any practical usage an alchemist could think of, healing, offensive, enhancement, etc.

Warforging: a collection of metal and gem coatings meant to be purely aesthetic

Beastial Brews: a small group of mixtures that are almost guaranteed to put their victims in a very bad mood.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Bostone, after squeezing out enough mana from his being to fill a bottle, and shaping a lantern case from iron, sets out to to begin a singular molding of Arkenlyte. He begins by perusing his personal stores of herbs, grabbing a singular Faerie Truffle, two counts of Bitter Reed, two of Amberiddle, and one Nightglow. After wandering his way down to the workforce hall, his satchel filled with reagents and tools, he set aside a few sets of bowls, one of which, made out of aurum, along with a matching set of impliments and containers.

Just then, a beardling came along, inquiring to the work Bostone was partaking in. "Ahm makin ah special lantern lad, one devised from ancient Dwed alchemist minds, dat will nae evah fade unless directleh destroyed. now du meh ah favor." He said while grabbing a key from his pockets and tossing it towards the beardling. "go intu deh back room 'ere in deh workforce 'all, ahnd get meh ah bucket of deh liquid labeled 'Aqua Vitae' please ahnd t'ank ye." As the beardling ran off , Bostone began to crush and mince each item in succession, making sure to avoid interacting with the Faerie truffle with anything other than Aurum. He then soaked each and every bowl's contents with the newly aquired Aqua Vitae, letting it soak, then finally filtering out the contents of the mortars with a sieve, and setting a new batch of small bowls to boil over a fire, with the filtered contents inside. "Ye knae of deh Starbreakah metal lad? deh one dat glows like deh stars in deh night sky? well, ahm essentialleh makin ah faux version of et 'ere. Just as pretteh, just none of deh durabiliteh er capabiliteh as deh actual metal." After explaining to the beardling the specifics of the final product, he would go to take the bowls, now only filled with dust, off of the burner. He then separated out each of the symbols, much to the beardling's astonishment and put them aside into their own specially made vials inside his satchel, leaving only the ones he intended to use, on the table.

"'ere es where deh fun begins" He said to the Dwed before him, after uncapping the bottle of liquid mana, and pouring it into a bowl. He began by doling out the symbols he had extracted before, taking note to leave the rigidity and light symbols aside entirely. After prepping his table front, he trickled in three counts of Aether-Clarity, to satisfy the 'any aether' of the recipe; Then, whilst beginning to mix, he trickled in two of Aether-Endurance, three of Mundane-Connection, and three of Mundane-Purity. It was at this point that the mixture started to solidify, but not fully, as his mixture turned more into a kneading motion, until finally, he began to shape it. Bostone then dropped the ladle, and grabbed at the alchemical putty, shaping it into a crystalline-like rod, to be placed between the clutches of the lantern he had crafted earlier. Once it was shaped, and in place, he took two counts each, of both Mundane-Rigidity and Mundane-Light and slid them into the clay, sealing up the impact point quickly, as it quickly hardened and solidified, permanently. He then let the beardling examine the lantern to his hearts content, until finally retiring it to a shelf in his shop.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

Bostone returned to the workforce hall, with a small bundle of ingredients in tow, ready to teach his prospective apprentice a few new tricks. "Righteh, today, ahm gonnae teach ye ah couple of extractshuns ahnd ah recipe tu boot. Ye will find dis recipe tu beh quite ah useful parteh trick tu ahve, especialleh ef ye 'ang around taverns er brawl pits." Bostone placed the ingredients upon the table, stinking up the workforce hall in the process. "Now, can ye tell meh wot dese plants 'ere are? Ahve ye been able tu identify dem yet?"

The beardling nodded along, pinching at his nose, pointing out the sample of Tippens Root, and Ponderlot, sitting upon the table.

Bostone nodded in agreement at the response, and detailed the lesson plan. "Right, so lets go ahead ahnd get rid of dis bloodeh plant first, which, weh will preform ahn eart' extraction wit'. Firstleh, grab ah Mortar ahnd pestle from undah deh table, ahnd crush it down. yer gonnae want tu core dis process tu memoreh as ah detail et lad, yer gonnae use et alot."

The beardling apprentice grabbed at the mortar and pestle from below, and began to crush the tippen's root with an unrefined technique, whilst trying to avoid the smell.

"Ets best ef ye just ignore et, you'll find Tippens tu beh deh one plant ye cannae go wit'out, alchemist er nae. Now, once ye t'ink yur done dere, grab deh scale from undah dere as well. Find deh weight of deh mince ye just made, ahnd take about 'alf of dat in deh form of salt. ye will want tu mix ahnd grind dem togethah once yer done. Bostone then walked away momentarily while the beardling figured out how to use the scales, finding and pouring distilled water into a vial, and prepping a bowl of aqua vitae. Once he returned, he checked his apprentices measurements, and let him proceed with his process, placing the items aside for the later steps.

"Now, take deh sieve from under dere as well, ahnd put yer new batch of powder through et, den once yer done, take dese." Bostone handed him a few small vials, each labeled with their respective symbols, and a clear green ring around them. "dis process in particular makes seperatin deh symbols relativeleh easeh. but donnae feel deh need tu rush. Take yer time, ahnd once yer done, let meh check on yur results, ahnd weh can move ontu deh next extraction.

After some time, the beardling had successfully finished with his first extraction, with the help of Bostone, and made his way onto the ponderlot, to which, Bostone, interjected with:

"Now now, donnae beh so 'asteh, ah didnae even say wot ye were tu du wit' dis one. Dis will beh ah mundane extractshun, which alsoh doubles as ahn Aethah extracshun, which requires ye replace everet'in wit' aurum, but weh will avoid dat alteration fer today. Fer nae, yes, ye can grind down deh pondahlot. once yer done, take dis." He said as he slid the bowl of Aqua Vitae to the foreground "Dis es Aqua Vitae, tu make et, ye start off wit' ah distallation of watah, except instead, ye add ground Nethah wart tu deh liquid, ahnd continue deh process as normalleh. Place deh resultin mush in deh bowl when yer done mushin it down tu ah powdah." Bostone then watched and waited as his apprentice began to pour the liquid into the mortar. "ye onleh need tu covah et, no need tu waste liquid. Now dat ye poured et in, mix et around fer ah bit. Grab ah spoon er somet'in from undah deh table, ahnd mix et around like yer beatin an egg. remembah, dat ef ye want Aethah symbols, ye would du exactleh dis, but wit' Golden implements."

After the beardling completes his mixture, Bostone continues on: "Now, put et on deh burner, ahnd let it boil until Not'in is left but deh dust. den ye can separate deh symbols loike before. Ahll check yer work all deh same as well."

The beardling follows the instructions to a T well enough, and patiently awaits as Bostone checks his work.

Bostone inspected to see if all of the right symbols were in their correct vials, correcting any errors. "Good, now, ontu deh good part. Firstleh, show meh yer Mundane-Rage ahnd Mundane-Chaos vials" After his apprentice did so, Bostone brought out a clean Mortar and Pestle, and handed it to him, nudging him along "Yer doin just fine so far, now keep et up, grind up ah single count of deh rage, ahnd tuu of deh chaos, until ye ahve ah fine powdah. Den, put et aside, ahnd, du ye knae 'ow tu make infusion tea? Yer essentialleh gonnae want tu du dat, but wit' ah single count of Eart'-Curtailment ahnd usin dis vial of distilled watah." Bostone awaited, and watched his protégé at work as he corrected any errors or fumbles, the beardling might have had. Once the apprentice had the two pieces, Bostone began to speak once more: "Yer doin great lad, now just one last step ahnd weh can take ah break fer ah bit. Mix deh tuu togethah, Thoroughleh, in deh mortar, ahnd weh will leave it fer around ah day er so. den ye will come back tomorrow, ahnd weh will see deh results, of yer Smellin Salts." While his apprentice finished the last step, and setting the mixture inside his cupboard, Bostone began to explain the use of the creation: "ye will find dat deh dwed 'ere often times find demselves knocked out from eithah deir own lack of alcohol tolerance, er deir misplaced belief dat dey could win ah fight against ahn opponent. Granted, dependin on deh exact results of deh lattah, dis mixture may not even work. Ef ye evah need tu wake someone up wit'out desperateleh jostlin dem awake, ye can wave it undah deir noses. just shake et around tu activate et, ahnd uncork et, ahnd you'll ahve yerself ahn upset, but awake, Dwed."

The two returned the next day, and captured the resulting salts into a bottle, labeling it justly.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

For either case, I would take a look at the individual situation, examine what went wrong, bring the student aside personally, explain to them the points where they crossed in and out of the powergaming threshold, and everything in between. I would then correct any misconceptions and errors along the way, and give out advice on how to proceed on similar situations moving forward.

The workforce has been commissioned personally by the Grand King with a great task, requiring us to smith tools and objects of splendour to reward the members of the King's Council. We summon all workers to collaborate on ideas of what to create for those in service of this kingdom

I ask that any who believe themselves to be the top of the line in their art, and who work towards our kingdom's best interest show their talent, and help Yemekar’s Workforce in creating items that hold power in both symbolism of their respective roles, and their practicality towards those very same.

During the month of Anbella's Grace, Year 142, each item will be drafted, and assigned to an individual, or group. Each group or individual construct the items, and they will be peer-reviewed and finalised. Each item is to be passed down to members of the King’s Council of Urguan and will continue to be passed down, along with the roles they represent for as long as the roles and items continue to exist. Members that participate will be compensated generously and fairly for contributions.

Following the move from Almaris to Aevos, Yemekar’s Workforce came face to face with financial demands that would need to be met swiftly. While many have made attempts to impact the deficit in our coffers from the purchasing of new land, the workforce as a whole has yet to break out of its relative silence from the last continent.

Many have forgotten the might of the Dwarven Smiths and Golemancers or the talent of Urguan’s Alchemists and Enchanters. We as a workforce need to gather under one roof and progress our guild in both skill and value.

Members of the workforce are to meet inside the industrial district’s Workforce hall with their best tools at the ready so that they may create items truly worthy to represent the entire kingdom. Masters may try to aid the newer members or try their hand at a new field.

Please contact guild officials if a workspace in the hall does not suit your needs, or needs to be added.
