You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) After stepping into this worn and torn tent, the atmosphere felt tense. For Dahlia, at least. It didn’t help that the stranger she saw within - an old hag - recognised her. Yet she did not recognise the hag. She struggled to answer the hag after she invited her to sit down, “M-me?” Dahlia’s voice cracked, she cleared her throat to speak again. “Ahem I am Dahlia, it’s a pleasure, you seem to recognise me. Yet I fail to remember if we have met before.” She tried to speak confidently, masking her fear for a stranger knowing of her identity. “My story? Gosh that’s quite a long one..” Dahlia paused for a moment, taking a seat on the pillow the hag had previously gestured to. “I am a traveller of the lands, I enjoy the freedom of it, I discovered that when I left home alone for the first time. Wars never mattered to me, then again I always watched from the sidelines.” She pondered for a moment, attempting to recall more of her past. “My family was mostly unknown to me. I grew alongside a friend’s family. They treated me like I was their own, I felt like their own, y’know?” She let out a sigh, childhood was a fond thought of hers - despite the family she had not being her own, she thought of them as such. “When I left, I left to find more of myself. I have yet to do just that, I want to become involved - I don’t want to watch any longer. But I suppose I’ll just wait for where the wind takes me, ey?” Dahlia gave the hag a vague smile - Her life was very much incomplete, but she couldn’t wait to find out what else the future held for her.
