You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” Nalew inspects the old hag with a derogatory forced smile. "well..." she pauses and straightens her back "since you seem to have awaited me, I shall tell you my story." The rather short elf carefully places herself on the cushion next to the hag. Her gaze carries a heavy weight of judgment which she lays upon the old woman, dressed in brown and grey worn fabric. "As they say, ...never reject the request for a story from a wise". The hag doesn't seem to mind the defamatory tone she has been met with, she even smiles a bit and inspects the high elf knowingly. Nalew's ears twitch a bit as she starts "I am a child of the land of dawn. Born to Mali’thill of rank. My mother was one of the archivists of the great library, decorated with purity and prosperity. Working close with other wise Mali’thill in preserving the knowledge of this world. I used to think that people spoke about us in reverence but I came to learn that they were scornful about our name. It always seemed a bit unusual and not like one of a pure Mali'aheral descent. But as my mother was who she was, she managed to present the evidence of purity.” she pauses, losing her majesty for a second. “Well… it was revealed that my mother forged said document.” Silence. “The hate was unbearable. My siblings and I left our home after this to leave the derision behind us and find a new meaning to our name.” Nalew’s gaze fell on her hands “I roamed the western world for a bit and worked as a teacher until I met Reeva.” Her sorrowful gaze turns into a heartwarming smile. “She was a beautiful elf of Mali’ame descent and a hunting and harvest teacher in the town I was working in for a while.” Her eyes meet those of the hag again. “We fell in love after a few moons and she let me take her name. Since then we have been trying to find a new place to call home.”
