You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” They look at her for a moment before slowly pulling the cloth down from their face. Nose scrunching up a bit as the smell is now far more intense. Slowly exhaling Dex chooses to remain standing as they bow their head in greeting. "I hope you don't take it as insulting if I remain standing. I prefer to be alert at all times." Raising his head to look at her he begins. "I don't have much memory past 5 years ago. If I had any family then they have long since fled my mind and even though all who I tell respond with pity I have never had much of any issue with it. But, I would not mind trying to learn more about them..." He finishes with a whisper. Her face turns a bit red as she questions why she felt so compelled to tell the old woman, but Dex continues. "I enjoy traveling very much, but I would also want to find a place to settle. Preferably a place with others around. Not a big city, I'd rather it be a smaller town or village.” They begin to fiddle with their fingers as this is the longest they have spoken to someone uninterrupted. “While I haven't gone out of my way to seek strong bonds or connections before, I wish that I had tried, even a little. I was constantly on the move, staying in local Ins at best, and sleeping under a tree at worst. Having spent my teenage years scavenging, looting, and selling whatever I could while never having a true home it is something I wish to now have. While I have no intentions of fully settling down I would like to feel a part of a community." Her head begins to hang a bit low. "To feel like I matter."
