  1. Foogbum The Wise

    Wakudoo

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "Oh, I just, uh…" Foogbum stuttered, tensing up. He eyed the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickened with anticipation, until he finally mustered the courage to recollect what he had lived through. He breathed in deeply then began. "I was born in a hamlet amidst the Southern forests. My family was poor, with only a small parcel of land to feed myself and 9 older brothers and sisters. I was driven from my home and family at the age of 5 by a night raid of dwarven slavers. For many moons, I wandered aimlessly among the trees." Foogbum paused, the memories of this time still traumatic. "I do not know for how long I was lost. I skated hunger and horrific creatures through luck and fear. After some time, I awoke to find a wood elf who took me back to their tribe." He paused once again, expecting further questions from the hag. She maintained the same blank stare into his eyes and motions him to continue. "The wood elf tribe, known as the Langolin, accepted me amongst them as I was young and needed refuge. I spent nearly 20 years with them, learning woodcraft and how to interact with the beasts of the forest. Eventually, I was once again driven from their ranks due to a lovers dispute that I had caused. Now, I am once again wandering the forests, searching for my people or a people within which I may call home." After completing his story, Foogbum looked up once again at the crone expectantly. "I see..." the woman began, "That you are wise to seek your people. There are many dangers that you cannot face alone." Foogbum paused, then gave a tired smile. "Ah yes, wisdom. Perhaps I am Foogbum the Wise."
