You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Example:
"Oh, I just, uh…" you stutter, tensing up. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until…
"Oh um...My name is Roselin Flora, and I am a half-breed wood elf." Roselin spoke shyly at first but felt the old lady was no harm and calmed down. "I am on an adventure to share nature with the world and help others understand the value of what lives with us!" She rushes out being excited to talk about nature. She goes on to explain all the plants she knows about, clearly not knowing when to stop. "...Anyways I just want other folks to know that nature should be appreciated and valued, not to be taken lightly." Roselin looks with sparkling sincerity into the old lady's eyes.
Roselin's Backstory -
Roselin had a frustrating childhood living with all the other wood elves. For a fresh start she sets out on an adventure to be the best florist. Nature was everything to her and she wanted to share the love with everyone across the land. Being a half-breed wood elf, she was intoned with nature but did not look like the rest. Resulting in her being seen as weak by the others and was babied. She knows how to be sneaky, and the plants around help hide her. Roselin went through some harsh times being alone but eventually she found her way.
She always dreamed of leaving her home to get away from the other wood elves. The only thing she took from her home was a purple flower crown that never seemed to wither and a bracelet she got from the only wood elf that was nice to her. She was a vegetarian and could cook very well. Roselin always had a book with her that included plant descriptions, and some recipes for vegetarians.
