You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) An uncertainty seems to overcome him a moment as the woman beckons him to tell his tale, though he takes the invitation to be seated no less.. taking it as a kind gesture he often does not receive. He wonders where to begin, raising his head to speak to her as he provided his greeting. "..I am Sylas Ilanea, and I arrive from a distant land. I have long journeyed to these lands, and have since my arrival long traveled them with unrest." There is a shift in tone, as he seems to recall his purpose, and the truth behind his story. "I search for those that were lost in our venture from my homeland, as we fled from the harsh conditions in hope of a better life. In the late hours of night we departed by boat, unaware we were sailing into a terrible storm ahead, just before we could reach Aevos.. I have yet to find anyone familiar, that may have survived that horrible venture." A sadness overcomes him further as his voice halts momentarily, looking to the lady as she looks on to him still, her gaze asking for him to speak further. "I had a sworn duty, given to me that night by my mother, who was bound to stay.. I was told to protect my dearest sister. Wherever she was to go, I would follow. No matter the cause, I would be there to save her, and to see her safe again. Together, we jumped from the sinking ship.. only, I washed up alone upon the shores of Aevos, somehow still clinging to life.." He ponders a moment, as if asking himself a question before he further continued. "She was strong.. I believe she's still out there.. And I swore to my mother that I would protect her." He speaks gently as he picks himself up from the seat provided, knowing that he must continue on, though only having just rested. "I know one day I will find her.. I'll search endlessly until I do. I know that she would do the same for me.." Stepping from the shelter of the tent, he continued on the unending search..
