The old man took advantaged of the situation and convinced the girl that she had promised to work for him in turn for saving her life, and that they had being living together for a while. The girl would do odd jobs around his town for a while. After a few years, the old man would pass away. In his death bed, perhaps having thought of the girl as a daughter he never had, decided to reveal the truth to the girl. The girl forgave him, as he give her a place to stay when she was lost in a foreign place without a past.
