You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Eldrin stumbled through the decrepit town with an uneasy look of caution on his face. A town hall or library would've been preferable, but having gotten lost already amongst the shacks and cabins, he decided to enter and take a seat upon being offered the cushion. Eyeing the hag up and down, he decided reluctantly that this might be the best lead he'd found yet. "Thank you most kindly, err, m'lady. I am a traveller from Oren, come to discover the secrets of this realm, and to collate such a collection of knowledge and lore that no nook or cranny will remain undocumented. You see, I hope to open a grand library, and to trade in the secrets that pull the strings of this realm as was done by my ancestor Rathor Thornewood (NPC) many moons ago." The man continued to ramble on about grand visions and hopes, before turning to his brief journey to the town, and the various botanical and geological features he had discovered along the way, none of which were of much interest to the hag. After a long while, she began to shuffle around the tent, offering an occasional grunt of acknowledgement whilst seeming to collate a small collection of ingredients, tinctures and tonics, and combining them in a mortar and pestle. A few seconds later, she interrupted Eldrin's prattle, thrusting forth a small stone bowl full of a bright blue mixture. "Drink" Eldrin looked slightly offended, but decided not to be impolite and took a sip from the bowl. Immediately, he felt a strange burning sensation, and felt an odd magic pull his lips tightly shut. "Goodbye", said the hag, waving her grubby paw and ushering him towards the door. Eldrin shuffled disappointedly towards the door, bowing his head out of reluctant gratitude for her brief help and waving a sullen goodbye.
