You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?))
He gestures widely to the hag; still standing, and exclaims, "I come from everywhere, I see all I can, and tell many-a-story about my travels! I sing of great treachery of nobles, and play tunes and odes of deceit from amongst the masses!" He trails off, and hangs his head in a dramatic motion, "though, lady of the swamp, if I may be so direct; I lost it all on a bad bad bet." He finally sits down with a *thump*, and lifts his head and looks her in the eye, "I lost my viol, and my tools of trade. I lost my house, and my mind does fade... though I will be forthright with you now... I seek to begin again." A sombre tone finally reaches through the façade he was putting on, "I don't want to lose again, and thus to these lands I travel to start anew."
He shifts in his seat, seemingly uneasy at the silence. The Crones face shows she is not satisfied and with what was said.
"I am the bard of Yonder, Odhran is the name." He clasps his hands, "and my name carries no weight in this land. My upbringing was humble, and my feats small until I left my small town and embarked to the various cities of the land. I remember little, as my adventures overshadow my small town life." He lifts his chin higher this time, a smile creeping through the pain. "I seek to forge friendships from which I have not known much of. I seek to settle, and wander less than before. I will grow old one day, and I need to dig roots." He waves his hands in the dirt below, picking up some soil and letting it fall through his fist. He says nothing more and sits in silence, pondering his future.
