Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Standing within the threshold her mismatched eyes pinned the old lady sitting before her "My story... I do not like to share it with many, but I suppose as you asked I can share a little." Her feet softly drummed against the crooked planked floor as she bowed to her and began. "It depends, I originate from Main land, and spent my time with my family all of which are Oyashiman, there is no special story with me. Only that I... enjoyed my childhood seeming to bind myself to the beauty of my home country running wild in a forest full of mysteries. I'd leave for, hours and return only as the sun began to sink below the mountains with some odd plant or rock. My parents turned a blind eye, mere farmers did not ponder their children's disappearances knowing when the sun sank and the moon rose such souls would return with some wonderfully strange forest gifts. I was taught the ways of my people as most young girls were, storytelling, musical interests and traditional language and dance I especially excelled in. Though, my heart and place resided in the curiosity I housed for the knowledge of things around me, plants, history or even the stories of my people always had me wanting more and I retained such knowledge." Pausing for a moment a soft sigh left her lips, as she let the words she spoke sink into the empty air and expand so that maybe one day, like her brother she'd become a story teller. "Once my coming of age ceremony was announced and I passed with succession, I chose to take a break and reside alone in the local forest. For the rest of my days I spent many of my years trying to master the art of herbalism and alchemy, but my attempts were in vain. My restless soul grew tired of it all and I announced to my parents the next day I was going to Aevos to seek the knowledge I wished to learn on such topics. Then through a rather horrid boat trip of disgusting rocking and utterly horrible water I arrived. Basically bowed to the land in relief... and uhm..." glancing around her face became distorted in disgust at the shabby living environment then glanced at the old woman and forced a fanged smile "I hope I can learn what I need to here and find my place with people similar to me..." With that she turned to look around a final time and then disappeared behind the doorframe of the entrance she, only a few minutes before entered through, beginning her oddly strange journey in a new world.
