Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Confusion spreads upon the drow's face, her nose scrunching up in confusion. Taking a moment to possibly think if they know this woman, they were unsure if they did in the slightest. Despite this utter confusion, she was inclined to sit after walking for so long. After all, who wouldn't take such an offer? Sitting down on the cushion, she would roam her head along the lining of the tent- Why was such a woman here? Expecting? Ruava's eyes snapped back to the woman, balling her hands into fists and clenching at her dress in anticipation. "Uhm, if you do not mind ma'am, you said... Uh, expecting, no? Why exactly were you expecting me, who... Uhhh... Are you?" Her accent was surely not common, it wasn't her first language after all. Still, she tried her best despite the small barrier. When no answer was given, the drow moved her hands together to fiddle with her own fingers. The silence was becoming too much, so she instead decided to reply. What harm could be done? "Ussta kaas- Uh- My name... Ruava of the Epitaph bloodline." When she spoke it, it felt sour to her mouth. "I was raised underground, in the Underdark. I have not seen many overworlders except my ilharn. I believe that is father to you. In my home, they are mean. Worship those who do not call, wail for the demise of their despised. Women are main people- Priests, rulers. None but us should be down there, until my... Mother, that's it." This time her voice lifted, getting the hang of speaking once more. "She had spouse that was not elven, human instead. It was a disgrace. I was a disgrace. Unpure. When I was old enough, the priests wished my family bad fortuna, fire blazes for that night in the underdark and I left. I went up to the overworld and explored. I do not have much of my own, I am a wanderer now. But I am... Happy." A breath left her lips, one she never knew was being held in. "Now I try to bring smiles. Laugh instead of wail. No idea where to go. But excitement coils."
