Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Sebral glances at the woman, confused. "Why isn't she afraid of me?", he thinks. Sebral approaches the old hag and takes a seat next to her. "Thank you for your hospitality, madame", he says. "Most people ignore or avoid me; this is a nice change of pace". Sebral smiles for a moment and then removes the dark spectacles that cover his crimson eyes. Sebral looks at the woman and begins to speak, "I'm not from around here, as you might have guessed. My name is Sebral Strag, I am a wandering poet from a distant land! However, it's been difficult to do either of these tasks since the incident..." he looks down at his charred, bandaged, hands. "It was 3 years ago when it happened. You see, my father was a blacksmith. He was intent on teaching me how to work the forge". Sebral chuckles and looks up at the ceiling for a second before continuing on. "I'm not sure what happened exactly, but somehow a fire started in the forge. Me and my father were trapped inside...". He puts his glasses back on his gaunt face. "I watched him die in front of me. I passed out afterwards, I was in a coma for almost a month. I woke up in the village doctor's home, looking like this". Sebral stands up and looks down at the old woman, "I couldn't stay in that place any longer, once I had healed, I packed my clothes and my quill and set off for greener pastures. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must continue on my journey". Sebral turns to exit the tent, before he exits, he looks back to the hag. "Thank you for listening to me". He exits the tent and continues his journey into the unknown...
