Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” Darius's eyes gazed the room, looking for anything dangerous that may pose a threat to him. Afterall, he didn't know what this hag truly was capable of, and in this strange magical world even the weakest of physical bodies could have the strongest of souls. Once he ensured everything was in order, Darius sat against the chair, his posture relaxed and leaned back as he looked towards the hag. His eyes met hers. As he inhaled, he began to speak in a calm tone of voice, one with confidence yet curiosity "If you already know me, I would expect you to at least know some of my story" Darius chuckled as the hags shook his head side to side "Expecting me you said? For someone who seems capable of wizardry, you sure do live in a place that doesn't do you justice. But hey, you can't judge a book by its cover." Darius said as he looked up towards the roof, watching water drip onto the rotted wooden floors. His face scrunched ever so slightly in disgust of where he was, but despite that clearly this hag was capable of something he couldn't comprehend. So alas, his gaze met hers as he finally opened up "Well, my story? I'll make this short I suppose, I don't like to talk about my past with strangers but obviously if a strange hag in the middle of a shitty town is capable of predicting my arrival, than I suppose it's worth my time. My name is Darius, Darius Guatapang for starters. I won't tell you were I came from like some other foolish imbeciles who simply spill out their information like running water. But I will say this, I came from a life where crime and your reputation was the only thing that kept you alive. Living in a shitty town in the center of a trade road will do that. My parents were sweet, actually they were amazing. If you saw them you would never guess I was their own offspring. . ." Darius said, his gaze facing the ground as he let out a heavy exhale, one which carried years of guilt and baggage. As the sigh finished, his gaze lifted back up to face the hag "Despite my parents being outstanding role models, the people around me weren't so much. Growing up in a more poor environment I learned to fend for myself, fight against the odds and even the people if push had to shove. I learned quickly that the only person you can trust in a world filled with magic, spirits, killers, thieves and more is yourself. So, I left. The city I was living in brought me no purpose, brought me no path in life. So, I'm travelling to seek for a purpose, a role to fulfill in this dreaded world. Maybe it will be a good one, maybe it won't. But only time will tell, or maybe int his case, YOU could tell" Darius let out a soft chuckle at his own remark and joke "Get it? Because you predicted I was coming here? So maybe you could see into my future?" The hag didn't laugh, but instead just kept staring at Darius and listening. He rolled his eyes, taking offense to his silence as he stood himself up "I can tell being in this dirty town alone will bring me no purpose, and therefor it's useless to me" Darius said as he turned around and began to walk out. His footsteps creaking against the wood "Maybe one day we will meet again, but you probably already know if that is or isn't going to happen. Don't tell me though, surprise me hag. You're capable of something, and one day I hope I can see it" Darius said as he finally stepped out of the shack, walking away from the hag as he prepared to start his next journey..
