Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Cedric’s eyes scanned the room, taking in the candlelit space before he gave his robes a few quick pats, making sure no dirt clung to them. With a small sigh, he lowered himself onto the cushion, adjusting his cloak as he settled in.
"Well, you see, I uh-" He hesitated for a moment before shaking his head. "Ah, screw it…" he murmured.
"I go by the name Cedric Kruger. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be an adventurer, have my own party, my own stories to tell! Aaaand… well, it didn’t go quite as planned." He let out a dry chuckle, resting his elbow on the table and perching his head up on his hand. "They told me I wasn’t fit to be a fighter. Said my best option would be becoming a cleric, mostly ‘cause of my parents being doctors and all." He sighed. "So, I went to med school. And honestly? It was actually kinda fun. Learned a lot, also looking forward to learn healing spells, and learned some regular advanced medical training."
His fingers drummed lightly against the table. "But after all that, I don’t really wanna be stuck in one party anymore. Instead, I wanna open my own clinic—set up along the roads between towns. Y’know, in case anyone gets hurt along the way, I’d be there to help. And apart from that, I’ll work as a hired cleric, parties could come to me, hire me for a set time, and I get my cut." He shrugged. "Not a bad setup, right?"
He paused for a moment before adding, "In my free time, I like learning about unique ways to cure a person and… other medical techniques." His fingers absentmindedly tapped against the side of his mask, right where a missing eye should be. "Right now, I’m working on a treatment for psychosis. Tried operating on someone… unstable. Learned a valuable lesson."
He leaned back slightly, tilting his head. "So! You got those seeds and herbs I've about?"
