Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
“I’m… I’m looking for someone,” she begins, her voice shaky at first, but it steadies as she goes on. “My friend. She disappeared. Just… vanished. No one will tell me anything. They all act like she never existed, like I’m crazy for even asking. But I know… I know something happened to her.”
She meets the hag's gaze, her eyes hard and desperate.
“So, I ranaway, I had to leave. I had to get out of there before they made me forget her, too. But I’m… I’m so lost. I don’t know where to go, what to do, or who to trust anymore. I just—” Her voice breaks, but she takes a deep breath, fighting the tears that threaten. “I need answers. I need to know what happened to her.”
