Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

He shifts slightly on the cushion, his hands nervously adjusting the folds of his tunic. “Im from a small village. Its... quiet. Not much happens there. Everyone knows everyone, and life feels a little... predictable. I guess I just—” He hesitates, looking down at his hands before meeting her eyes again, “I just needed something more. Something different. I’ve always been curious, always wanted to see more of the world. I don’t know, maybe I thought coming here would help me figure out what I want to do with my life.”
He exhales softly, trying to calm his nerves. “I heard there were jobs in towns like this... work for someone who’s good with their hands, or, you know, willing to help out. I thought maybe I could find something to do, something to keep me busy. I don’t really know what Im supposed to be doing yet, but I thought this might be a good place to start.”
His gaze shifts nervously toward the tent’s entrance, then back to her. “I just... I needed to get away, see if I could find a place where I actually fit in. That’s why Im here.”
