  1. Milites Ecclesiae Soldiers of the Church ‿̩͙⊱༒︎༻♱༺༒︎⊰‿̩͙‿̩͙⊱༒︎༻♱༺༒︎⊰‿̩͙‿̩͙⊱༒︎༻♱༺༒︎⊰‿̩͙‿̩͙⊱༒︎༻♱༺༒︎⊰‿̩͙‿̩͙⊱༒︎༻♱༺༒︎⊰‿̩͙ A Treatise on the Sacred Duty of Arms in Defense of the Holy Canonist Church By a Humble Servant of God, in the Year of Our Lord. Let it be declared and affirmed: the calling of arms, when borne not for vanity nor plunder, but for the preservation of God's elect and the vindication of divine law, is a holy office. As the priest is ordained to preserve doctrine, so the soldier is ordained to preserve the peace that doctrine may be preached. For it is written in the Scroll of Auspice, “There are yet faithful… and they are assailed by a multitude of perversions” (Auspice 1:14–15). What then is to be done, save that the faithful be shielded by strength, sanctified in virtue, and girded by those ordained to repel evil with the sword? I. Of Divine Hostility to Evil In the last days of Sigismund, as he beheld the Face of God, he was given this revelation: “The shadow of GOD is cast thrice upon the land… and men tread the sea in its wake.” (Portent 1:2) “Now Iblees is rising from the Void.” (Portent 1:3) Here, war is not merely terrestrial, but cosmological. The forces of darkness - named Vargengotz and Ishtar, and in finality, Iblees himself - do not wage war upon nations alone, but upon virtue, upon the very foundations of holy order. Thus it is said: “The sanctuaries of the world are struck down before her, and the seas and forests are her conquests.” (Portent 1:20) “So the world is a pit of suffering.” (Portent 1:26) Wherefore then, should the swords of men lie idle? II. Of the Martyrs Militant and the Virtuous Host In the Vision of Strife, God does not abolish warfare but sanctifies it. The virtuous dead are not summoned as spirits to idle contemplation, but as generals and soldiers in a final reckoning. As it is written: “The virtuous dead are descending… and leading them is Horen renewed, and he ordains the estates of their armies.” (Strife 5–6) And the heavenly host is not metaphorical, for each patriarch is assigned his retinue: “So Horen calls forth Sigismund and Urguan… and they go out… and strike out against Ishtar.” (Strife 7–10) “Godfrey and Malin… and they strike out against Vargengotz.” (Strife 11–14) “Owyn and Krug… and they strike out against Iblees.” (Strife 15–19) This triadic crusade, heavenly in its cause and militant in its form, affirms the dignity of the just soldier. III. Of the Temporal Sword in Service to the Church The sword is not wicked in itself; it is wicked when wielded for iniquity. But in the hands of the faithful, it is the instrument of justice. Behold: “Thus Sigismund raises aloft the mark of heaven… and they spill forth to purify: Ishtar and her servants are consumed.” (Strife 27–30) “Thus Godfrey raises the scepter of rebuke… and the unjust are punished: Vargengotz and his servants are destroyed.” (Strife 35–38) “Thus Owyn raises the sword of flame… and the wicked reject it: Iblees and his servants are destroyed forever.” (Strife 46–48) Can any man say, after reading these sacred utterances, that there is no place for the soldier in God’s redemptive plan? Nay - rather, the soldier who fights for the Church, for virtue, for peace, is not only permitted but exalted. IV. The Military as Guardians of Sanctuary It is written of the enemies of God: “The sanctuaries of the world are struck down before her” (Portent 1:20) “The incense is burned to Iblees, and there is left no field, and men starve.” (Portent 1:34) Who then shall defend the sanctuaries? Who shall preserve the holy incense, the fields of grain for almsgiving, the priest in his ministry? It is the faithful warrior, whose sword defends the altar and whose shield turns aside the tyrant’s spear. Conclusion Thus we behold, in the light of Divine Providence, the sacred bond betwixt the Church and the sword - not as a union born of worldly ambition, but of holy necessity. The Canonist Church, being the ark of salvation and the steward of GOD's immutable word, must ever be safeguarded against the chaos of sin and the violence of heresy. For just as the shepherd bears not only the staff to guide, but the rod to ward off wolves, so too must the Church be girded by men of virtue, sworn to her protection. The soldier of GOD is not merely a warrior, but a servant of the divine order. His hands are not only for battle, but for the defense of truth. His loyalty must be to righteousness above realm, to justice above crown, and to the Lord above all. The sword of the faithful is not wielded in wrath, but in holy judgment, and it is sheathed not in peace alone, but in vigilance. Therefore, we affirm with solemn conviction: the military role in defense of the Canonist Church is not an earthly burden, but a heavenly charge. It is the holy calling of the just, the brave, and the devout — to be not conquerors, but keepers of the sacred trust. In this duty, may they stand unwavering, as bulwarks against the tempest, until the day when peace eternal reigns under the gaze of the Most High. “This is the promise of GOD to the World, that it shall belong to the virtuous, who love Him.” (Paradise 17) May our swords be ever drawn in His service, and our knees ever bent in His praise.

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Example: "Lat been expecting mi? Who are lat?" His eyebrows furrowed as he eyed the hag, preferring to stand. "Ich am a wandering son of Krug, looking fur mi bruhdas in ze horde." He paused, scratching his chin. "Which road takes mi there, lat know?"
