Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” Looking at the woman, then at the cushion, then back to her, Taejin gave a sigh before sitting down. "A lot of things brought me to this point. I don't even know where to begin." Taejin looked up at the ceiling of the tent before focusing his gaze back on the woman. "I was born and raised in the kingdom of Burgundy, specifically the Grand Principality of Ravenmire. The Yoo clan..." He trailed off, looking down at the ground as he shifted uncomfortably on the cushion. "They're a family of reformed ninjas turned samurai warriors. There's still a few ninja here and there though. We had a family clan head that was assassinated when I was a kid. According to my dad, he was a respectable man who was gone too soon. My dad was a ninja himself and my mom was a trader." A faint smile could be seen on Taejin's face as fond memories of his parents came to mind. "My parents aren't dead though. They're still living in Ravenmire. But we distanced ourselves from the Yoo clan after finding out there was a coup d'etat behind the murder of the old clan head. My father and the new clan head clashed a lot because of it and my parents started feeling unsafe around the other clan members due to not knowing who all was involved with the coup." Taejin looked to the side, a bitter expression evidently seen. "I've always wanted to explore the world since I was younger. Maybe even join a military. My parents never really allowed me to step outside of Ravenmire until I turned 16. I can't say I blame them though. I've been adventuring on my own ever since. The wilderness definitely isn't the kindest of places but it's taught me a lot about surviving." Taejin finally looked to meet the hag's gaze again. "I want to become the new clan head of my family one day and bring it not just to it's former glory, but to make it something new." A sparkle could be seen in both of Taejin's eyes as he looked at the old woman, a smile of hope plastered on his face.
