Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) As Eryk looks at the hag he responds in a cold calm voice, " There's really not a lot to say, but it all began a few years ago". He began to speak about his story from when he was fifteen, “In my youth I would help my father around in the forge making tools for the village.” he said reminiscing the good days. Eryk looked down at his boots and said, “Once I turned eighteen, I left my home to follow my own path and learn from other blacksmiths.”. He stared at the hag with stern eyes and said to her, “Sometimes I wished I never left my home.”. Eryk starts looking at the hag questioning why he is telling her this. Eryk starts to talk about his story more as he glares at the hag seeing if she is even listening to his story or wasting his time. Eryk looked down, his voice strained as the weight of the memories that sat upon him for years. “Not long after I left... everything changed,” he stuttered, his hands balling into fists at his sides. “Word reached me that my home was destroyed. My father… my mother… Everyone was gone. No bodies. No graves. Only ashes.” His jaw tightens as he focuses to meet the hag’s gaze. “Since that day, I’ve carried the guilt. If I had stayed… maybe I could have stopped it. Maybe.” He said with a sad expression, suspicion creeping into his tone. “But you… why do you even care for my story, witch? What game are you playing?”.
