Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Kaiser steps into the tent slowly, the smell of wax and damp fabric filling his nose. He sits when told, moving carefully, like he’s used to not taking up space. The cushion creaks under his weight. His hazel eyes flick toward the hag, but only briefly before dropping to the flickering candles. “I’m not really sure why I came here,” he mutters a bit too quietly. “Guess I was just... hoping this place would be quiet. That no one would recognize me.” He pauses, tugging slightly at the frayed sleeve of his tunic. The silence stretches, but eventually, he spoke once more. “I used to live with a desert tribe. My family had a name that meant something. We were supposed to follow rule, tradition, honor, all of that.” He swallows hard, then shakes his head faintly. “But I didn’t. I made choices they didn’t agree with. Didn’t speak when I was supposed to. Talked back. Trusted people I shouldn’t have.” He looks off to the side, voice softer now. chuckling dryly “They said I brought shame. That I couldn’t stay. So I left before they made it official.” A pause. “I’ve been on my own ever since. No real goal. Just trying to stay out of people’s way.” His eyes meet hers for the first time. “I didn’t come here looking for anything. I didn’t even know I’d find someone waiting.”

The shadows in the corners of the tent seem to lean in, listening with interest he tries to ignore. “I’ve been on my own ever since. No real goal.
