Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Example: sunder looks at the hag and thinks of what to say, he is not used to people speaking to him or expecting answers from him. "i have no story, i am just passing through." sunder does not know if that was the answer he should have given or if it was the correct thing to say. he was in fact only passing through and has been drifting aimlessly for most of his life, he has had no reason for anything he has done and just simply did it. sunder decides it is best to keep moving and leaves the town and the old woman behind him. he continues on his endless journey and wonders what he could have said to the old woman instead of his bland answer. as he walks his memory of the event slowly fades and he forgets all about the town and old woman, he eventually reverts back to the walking husk he was before. backstory: sunder grew up in a small village that was on the border of two warring kingdoms. nobody in the village were sunders real parents, he had just turned up on someones doorstep one day. while growing up sunder felt he was an outcast in his own village and family, he wasnt alone though, he had tons of friends, and his family loved him. he just felt that he didnt belong. when sunder was a teenager the two kingdoms attacked his village, they thought that it was getting in the way of their war and decided it needed to go. sunder survived by hiding under the ashes and fires of the buildings. once the battle was over sunder's flesh was seared and his skin turned grey. this event traumatized sunder and set him on a path of vengeance. once he finally toppled the kingdoms he was cursed and his mind left him. after that he was destined to wander aimlessly forever.
