Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"I'm afraid there's little story to share, madam." A yukata-clad woman replies with a cautious tone and a tired smile, taking over the cushion by bending her knees over it. "Here, you see - my name's Ren. Himura Ren. And I hail from a small village in a forest." A gust of acrid wind whistles through and makes the upper beams shatter. She sends them a glance; and then, she simply goes on. "My parents perished on an accident as they went on a woodcutting journey, and hence the chieftain found and adopted me. But we always were a scarce and vulnerable bunch, thus small insects and nature's clemencies rid us ill often. So I ventured to the outside world to study medicine, to seek a master that may take me under their guidance."
Upon handing this brief explanation, sleek hair tufts slip over her shoulder as she glances over the room. She combs them behind her ear as she asks, "Would you like some tea?"
