Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Leonidas stepped into the tent, scanning the enviroment as he looked around, His gaze meeting a witchly looking woman.
"Oh hey there, Sorry to intrude ma'am, I'm looking for a nice place to settle down, somewhere with adventure and monsters to get by and make a living, would you have any tips?"
"Also you said you've been expecting me?" Leonidas says curiously.
Leonidas looks at the cushion the old lady gestered towards, he thinks how tatterted the rest of the room looks.
"You want to hear my story ma'am? Well like i said before, im trying to get stronger and find a place to settledown."
Leonidas ponders for a moment on if he should say whats really brought him here.
"Honestly ma'am, im trying to uphold my father's final wishes... You see, he went missing recently while we were out gathering metals for new gear. He talked about how we need to start heading for this town and find that old lady in the swamp."
"You see, my father and I ran a blacksmith shop back in our old town, but after it was attacked we decided to take up adventuring instead. I mean we already had the knowledge and craftsmenship to gear up, so why not haha"
"I was never really a fan of our work however, My father always wanted me to take over the shop, but I like architecture more than I like weaponry. To be honest I'm not even good with a sword... only ever really trained with a bow."
Leonidas looked sad as he said those words, and remembered what else his dad had asked of him.
His head dropped, his voice growing softer and lower, he said
"I was also looking for answers... Dad told me, well he told me if anything happened to him to come find this place, to find you. He never said why exactly, just that you may know where to go from here."
Leonidas looked back up at her, his eye sharpened, and stated
"So old lady, i mean, ma'am, why am I here?"
