Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Halbarad entered the tent, squinting his eyes as they adjusted to the dim light. "I am Halbarad. I am an Adunian Ranger,for long years I have wandered the wilds in silence, safeguarding the halfling villages unseen and unnoticed" He said, allowing a brief pause for a sigh. "Little do they know of our hard labor to keep safe their borders, but I grudge it not.Though evil has grown bolder and crept ever closer to their undisturbed peaceful lands." With a worried look on his face, the ranger looked around the tent for any signs of weapons or armor lying around or perhaps just a sign of warriors being present in this town. "I am venturing further from my post now in search of friends and allies for the darkness that is to come. I must admit, on first sight I do not expect to find many allies here, but appearances can fool a man and I figured it was worth a shot. After all, this is the only town I have come across in this area. If there are any able bodied warriors or healers in this place, I would hear of it so that I may beg their assistance in my quest.For if me and mine do not defend the halflings, grim fates await them. Tell me, lady, will I find allies here?" With that question, Halbarad finished his monologue and looked eagerly to the old hag. He hoped then that she would reveal this town to be a warriors' encampment of sorts, but perhaps he knew his hope was in vain. Maybe the next town would prove better luck.
