Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Ibora stays standing dismissing the gesture, naturally untrusting of others. "I've been looking for a place to settle for some time. I had to run away from my home after we were invaded by a large group of humans, they took my family away, I was the only one to escape that I know of. I would do anything to get my family back but I fear they have already been killed." They tell her. They look down at the ground and remember how they swore to never lose anyone close to them again. "I fear that they are after me, that's why I'm wearing this hood."
"But please, can I have some food and maybe somewhere to rest," They plead "I've been hunting and scavenging for months with little to protect me."
Until this moment Ibora has had their guard up, but the old hag has remained calm and not threatening. They let themselves feel safe for the first time in months, They don't know why but the hag's presence feels strangely reassuring. They step closer and sit down... They feel this might finally be someone they can trust.
