Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Raine looks at the hag with Faux surprise. "My story? There is not much to tell. Raised among four brothers, I learned early that not much was expected of me. Our family was well enough off not to fear starvation, but we were by no means wealthy. Bless my parents' hearts, they tried to raise me to fit into society, find a good husband, get a stable job, and live a happy, full life..." She looks off into the distance momentarily, thinking back to what life was like up to less than a year ago. "... unfortunately, very few of their lessons ever seemed to prove effective. I was a bit of a problematic child. Had to learn the hard way that a bull is much less accepting of being ridden than a horse. I would pick up sticks to swing as swords and collect whatever plants and rocks I could find to make 'magical elixers' and 'legendary weapons'." She chuckles to herself, thinking back to the days of coming home in a muddy and damaged dress after a day of mischief at the nearest river. "I just turned 20 a few weeks ago, and after the 'celebration' concluded, I decided that I want to have one more adventure before I settle down and truly become an adult. I trained with whatever damaged weapons I could fish out of the streams or nab from an unlocked shed to train my strength and stamina a bit, and now I want to see what the rest of the world has to offer." She pulls out a leather-bound notebook with 'My Journey (volume 1)' written on the front and quill. "I hope to make a record of all the wonderful things I see, and you, my friend, have earned the first entry in this book because you are already much more interesting than trees, rocks, and the occasional passerby with nothing to say. So, do you have any recommendations on where to go from here? Do not worry if it is hard to pick just one, I plan to see as much as I can eventually." Ralne stares at the hag with barely contained excitement at what she might say, ready to jot down notes on where her next stop might be.
