Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) He stutters as he says he doesn't know how he got here; all he can remember is fire and his name — Aizen End. He clutches his head as his eyes widen and he starts to recall: “His family is dead. He’s the last of his homeland.” His hands start to drop from the sides of his head as he continues. I am the only survivor of the land that was once lush, now burned to a crisp by monsters made of elements. Then he says with fear and shock in his voice, “The dead rising… hordes of skeletons swarming my parents while the demons burned the houses around me. Now I remember — they are part of the hordes of monsters. Ghouls, I think.” Before anyone can speak again, he tells himself that he should learn how to raise the dead — or at least some kind of magic. Tears stream down his face and his eyes grow dull. “His wife… his wife was pregnant, almost due,” he chokes as he continues, “but he failed to save her.” He chokes again on his tears and grief. “They got to her before he could.” He starts to cry even harder, tears of pure sorrow falling for his lost family. He flinches at the memories that flood his mind as he realizes his home is gone forever. “He won’t fail again,” he vows to himself. He will become stronger — he will learn magic to defeat those monsters of fire. He grits his teeth, grabs her hand, and starts to beg. “Please, ma’am, he’s begging you to teach him or tell him where to go to start his journey for revenge. He doesn’t care if he becomes evil — he’d rather avenge his family.” He insists that he should study magic and not just use weapons, since he saw firsthand how powerless blades were when his village was attacked by monsters, skeletons, and ghouls. He wants to learn how to summon demons "to master magic itself " so he can use it against those who destroyed his home and the family he loved.
