Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

“I’m from the Wood Elves, but I never really felt like I fit in,” I said, looking at the candles. “I’ve always been super curious about magic, like illusions and stuff no one talks about.” I shifted a bit, feeling nervous. “I left home when I was younger and just wandered around, trying to learn whatever I could about magic.” I looked up and said, “I’m not brave or strong or anything, but I came here because I heard you might be able to help me actually do magic right.”
