Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?)) (Kenneth Cross's Character would normally never respond to a question like this as he is a man of few words and doesnt really care enough about anyone to indulge this question (yet), but lets say that he would)
Example: "This wasn't in the job description" Ken mutters gravely under his breath as he grudgingly takes a seat, "My mother left me when I was a child, it's probably for the better, no one would want to be near my father, I can't blame her." He grunts offhandedly, "Some follow through would have been appreciated, instead she left me to that bastard I have the displeasure of calling a dad." he adds, pausing before continuing "Parading me around the known world, making me follow the same path of learning he did under some bullshit pretense of Being a better man. He made me learn from the same people he learnt from, with his own special touches of course, eventually I overcame them, some took longer, but I became better than them all. Than he gave me one last test to prove myself to him." Ken nods at a bottle of mead on the table, the hag nods back and he snatches it into his large hand, chugging the full thing before continuing "To surpass his legacy, which was of murder, but a legacy nonetheless. The first step of this was to kill him, when I refused, he made kill him." Ken concludes begrudgingly "Shitty old man. Now i'm trying to make him roll in his grave, make a better legacy, which is why I came here, hopefully to make something useful of everything he's taught me." "A knight?" the hag questions making him glare at her, she chuckles and raises her hands in surrender "Just a suggestion."
