Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "oh...ok," Verion hesitantly moves over to the cushion and takes a seat. Its softer then she expected, if it wasn't for the dank atmosphere she might have been able to relax for a bit. Verion glances up at the hag, put off at how intently she is staring at her. "It's a bit of a long one, but if you dont mind..." she says quietly. The Hag doesn't look away, Verion is pretty sure she hasn't blinked since she sat down. "I was an alchemist's apprentice, not here though, infact quite far from here." Some tears begin to form in Verion's eyes, she continues, "We went on an expidition, the Lord of our land challenged all alchemist's of his domain to create a elixer of life." Verion wipes the tears away, deciding to stare at her feet to avoid the unending gaze of the Hag, who is still staring... "our Lord's son was sick with something they wouldnt tell us, it wasnt a normal sickness though." She watches a small beetle crawl over her destroyed boots. "he wasn't weakened or sickly, infact he seemed completely normal. Outside of wearing a suit of armor no matter the occasion and the Lord's announcment, most people would have assumed he was essentric or anxious... Verion hesitantly glances up and the hag. is. still. staring. She decides that the hag must have blinked when she wasnt looking, her eyes drop back down to her feet. "But anyways, we went on an expidition because my senior discovered a lead on the elixer of life, so thats how we ended up in the middle of the ocean sailing around, which happened to be right into a storm." Verion furrows her brow and huffs, "what annoys me the most out of all of this, is my senior didn't even tell me what we were looking for, and now I will never know because everyone is gone and all the notes got soaked." she stands up and glares at the the hag. "Let me guess, you were getting me to lament about my life and the events that got me here so I'd drop my guard and tell you what I know?!" she started raising her voice, "well jokes on you, I know nothing, I have nothing, and I'm stuck in this swamp far from home!" she laughs triumphently, which becomes manic as tears begin to flow. Verion begins to sob, collapsing into the dirt, between sobs she whispers, "I want to go home."
