Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

He flops onto the cushion without hesitation. The tent smells foul, like many things died in there. But he doesn't flinch. He's been through way worse.
"I didn't come looking for trouble at all," He spoke, offering a smile. "Just passing through. Or at least that's what I told myself and my brother when the road got muddy, and we ran out of clean clothes."
He took a long look around the tent, eyes lingering on the candles before meeting her gaze. "My brother and I are adventurers. We follow rumors, odd jobs, half truth stories told by people who've had one drink too many. Someone mentioned this town, said strange things happen here, and stranger folk live to tell about them. Sounded like a fun place to visit."
He shrugged, "If you were expecting me, maybe you know something I don't. A monster, a relic, a curse? Doesn't really matter to me. I've been there and done that." He let out a chuckle. "So tell me, what's a traveler supposed to do in a town like this?"
