Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) The Mali lady slowly stepped forward, taking a seat. Mavis sighed, removing her hood that covered her pointy elf ears. As she cleared her throat, she began with simple formalities "I appreciate you taking the time to meet with me." Mavis tried her best to be respectful, not mentioning the strange and eerie environment. “Let's see... If I am being honest, I do not remember much of my past... It is all rather foggy in my brain" With a perplexed look in her eyes, she began to reflect on her story "I can only recollect segments like my name, Mavis, and I am from an elf village far from here. I am also aware that going home isn't an option that is provided to me anymore." Mavis seemed to tense up in this moment, with a frown clearly displayed on her face, "The only memory I have is when I left home one afternoon. I went to go pick berries in the garden to make sweets with my mother, and suddenly the sounds of explosions went off... the clash of blades... helpless screams..." She paused, clearly cracking a nerve. After calming herself down with a couple of breathes she continued, "Like any child I ran, ran as fast as I could until I couldn't. I made it a couple days out in wild, though it was tough. I was barely nourished, and I was paranoid of my surroundings. Eventually it was clear to my young self that I was bound to die had I not pursued help, So I headed back home, or so I thought... but all that was left was the lingering wretched smell of smoke and a pile of rubble. That was the day I learned that I was truly alone." The Mali lady glanced down at the floor as a tear rolled down her cheek, dragging them up to the woman, "I am traveling to find a place to call home, as well as a purpose in life...” The elf stuttered, glancing up at the candles that illuminated her surroundings. "That is why I came to Azuras, in hopes of finding something worthwhile here."
