Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "Well miss, it started just a month ago when I set away from home." He glances past the woman, as if he were reminiscing of times past. "My father was a wealthy sea merchant from the High Kingdom of Idunia, which is where I was born and raised. As a boy, he told me tales of his many travels outside of our home from days past, all of the cultures he saw, all of the people he met." His eyes fall... "As a religious man, he forbid me from reading anything outside of our sacred texts, but as a curious youth I would sneak into his study and read his old journals for hours. I became obsessed with the outside world, I spent days daydreaming of life as an adventurer, like from a story you might be told as a child." Alexander then locks eyes with the woman again. "For the past year, I've been making my plan to escape, I've never understood the hatred of outsiders that my people typically hold, especially after reading so many of my fathers texts as a boy." He points to his cloak, "I spent months slaving away with our local seamstress who offered to assist me with making my first ever cloak so I could be just like the heroes I read about-" excitedly, his eyes flutter and glisten in the dim light "a-and I brought adventuring journals to document everything I learn on my excursions. I am a student of virtue and justice, and I hope that with my adventures I can understand what it means to be good and that I can understand what the world has to offer for me. Now miss if you don't mind-" Alexander takes out his journal and caligraphy pen, he wets it from a bottle of ink that is very obviously running low "Please tell me yours."
