Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "Oh, I just, uh…" you stutter, tensing up. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until… Odlaw takes a pack of playing cards! Shuffling them in their dirtied hands, the cards land into the small pockets the goblin leaves, a small grin stretched across their face. Revealing the major arcana of the tower, their expression changes to a disturbed one! "Oh, sheesh, sorry about that," they say, shuffling the card into the palm of their hand. "tower's usually all um, well, doom and gloom." The hag stares blankly, a 'neutral' expression, her pale brown eyes staring plainly at the goblin as they scrounge up the recital they learnt many moons ago. "Things that're visible are bound to change, disappear... Sugar, what else... uh, and that in the end, all things are impermanent, acting as a tiny fraction of the big picture. And yet, even still, they're all different." The hag blanks, shrugs and then gives a single clap. "Eh- it was alright. These readings are usually a load of bosh, but I spose this was alright." An optimistic grin stretches across their face, as they gleefully sit across the table from the hag and begin doing many more readings! "Do you mind?" The goblin asks, the hag gesturing for them to sit. "I, uh, I really like these cards." They gently set them down, shuffling them as piles on top of each other as piles. "Cuz, like, they're usually right. Dunno how or why- but they're great for that," Picking up one card, they lay it flat on the table face down, "and it's always nice knowing, like, what your future could look like." Desperately scraping their nails, they try to lift the card up, the hag moving their hand aside and using her sharper, more claw like nails to lift it. "And, it's always great for money. But anyhow, like, I'm not really from anywhere nice or important, and all I've really got going for me are these cards, but like, I think that's still pretty cool, even if I can't really offer anything else." The card flips onto its front, revealing the World arcana. "Oh, see, like that! The world is, like, the deck's final card, and I think that it, uh, represents the individual's full awareness and place in the world. How neat is that? Like little ol' me, from some horrible town, gets to know that, cuz of some weird cards!"
