Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Hesitating at first, she sets down her leather knapsack before sitting cross-legged on the cushion. "Um.. My name is Las'malii," she casts her eyes downwards, avoiding the hag's gaze, unconfident in her approach. "I come from the forest of Iryalen... in search of someone who will mentor me in the ways of medicine and healing." She pauses and looks up to study the hag's expression. "...It's my parents, you see... they fell terribly ill with a rare degenerative disease that not even the village healers could cure." Her voice trembles slightly at the memory. "They raised me to have a kind heart and always said I should use my talents for helping those in need. So I left in search of answers. I want to find out what illness caused my parents' demises. I want to find a cure. That's... why I'm here." She looks up at the hag pleadingly, waiting for an answer.
