Part of a nomad family, Velios came from a fallen aristochratic bloodline. None of his parents had experience with hunting or manual labour. When they lost their few lands because of debts, they had to find a new place to live, being rejected by everything they knew. Velios lived few years as a noble, before going to the peasant's life. Going from village to village, his father's pride made them hated everywhere they went. At some point, they had no option but to start living as poachers on the woods. With limited experience, his family starved, being lucky to eat a rabbit or two a day. In the campfires at night, Velios father would tell him tales of his time as a noble, the parties, the meetings, the luxury. It made both Velios and his father tempted to get that back at any costs. His father started criminal acts with local caravans, looting and killing, as a way to eat and survive. Velios didn't approve those acts, but it was the only way for them to not starve. However the looting became notorious and the local lord sent men to hunt the criminals. They found Velios family hideout and attacked them. His father held the guards as he could and ordered his son to run and never use his family name again, wished him to have a new start. Now, far away from criminal activities, Velios dreamed with luxury and wanderlust, keeping the name of his family as a secret.
