Aster LaFontaine is a distant relative of the Fontaines and a half-elf. He is a learned man who used up most of his money to take his place on a ship to sail abroad to see the world. Across the seas, far from Azuras he attended a university where he was more or less self-taught and studied communally in the fields of military histories of various nations, as well as military and political science. He has watched armies fight, to the point where he would talk his way up to a participating noble's camp and offer his service just to be their ward in order to witness battles. He'd never command himself, but he would offer advice, take historical records and notes in a book he brings with him which calls the Codex. He has watched slave-levees fight wars for their masters, champions fight on behalf of their armies, but also studied the very details of military execution, and takes a particular interest in logistics.
Aside from prowess, Aster has grown to become a charismatic man, fit for a courtesan or retainer. Professional yet cunning in his own way, though he values loyalty and honor, but not enough of a stickler to get killed by said honor. He still believes in the Fontaine mission to assist those in need, and believes that he should serve not just the family, but the realm. It is after all people who make up a realm, like the blood cells pumping through a great heart. And the people must be looked after. Empires rest upon them after all.
After satisfied in seeing the world, he decides to return to his beloved origin family, the Fontaines in Adria. A charismatic man and young for a half-elf, he decides that his home is the perfect place to offer his assistance and study empires and kingdoms further, and perhaps a place to execute his ambitions and make a name for himself.
