Born within the forests of Viridian Enclave, Lotus Fernriver, grew up as the youngest of many siblings in a large Mali'ame. While their older siblings spent time with elders and spiritual guides, they often were overlooked within the crowded household. Much of their youth was spent helping with harvesting, gathering supplies, and tending to daily duties within enclave. Though they deeply valued the traditions of the enclave and the teachings of the Aspects, walking the same woodland paths everyday began to feel rather confining. They would spend the hours listening to traders and travelers as they spoke about distant realms across Almaris, growing more and more fascinated by the idea of cultures and lands beyond the forests.
Their parents viewed this curiosity with concern and disappointment, believing their child should remain devoted to the people and responsibilities of the enclave like the rest of the family. However, their eldest sister quietly understood their want for exploration that they carried and encouraged them not to fear the wider world. Before departing, she reminded them that exploration did not mean abandoning their people, but rather learning enough about the world to one day return wiser than before. Carrying those words closely, Lotus eventually left the Viridian Enclave behind, setting out into the realm of Almaris in search of experience, purpose, and a place where they no longer felt unseen.
