  1. Corvin experienced a difficult childhood in the city of Alisgrad, the capital of Norland. His parents were strict adherents to the Red Faith, in which one of the core values is the detestation of magic. Corvin's unnatural eyes, with opaque black sclera, were present from birth. Their dark lining seeming to suggest an innate connection between Corvin and evil magics, as his parents saw it. Though this "connection" never manifested further than the strangeness of his eyes, Corvin suffered at the hands of his parents throughout his entire childhood as a result of it. His parents hid him away whenever possible, and he was the frequent victim of physical abuse throughout his years living at home. This abuse culminated in a singular event when he was 18, where his father became so enraged by the "plague" Corvin brought upon the family that he attempted to burn him alive with a torch, leaving grotesque scars along Corvin's upper body that now are covered by his thick clothing. He survived only because his father dropped the torch by accident, causing a nearby curtain to catch fire and divert his attention. Corvin used this opportunity to escape, and has been drifting from place to place for a year since the event. His parent's twisted interpretation of the Red Faith still weighs on his mind, leaving Corvin anxious and emotionally guarded. As an adult, Corvin is timid, quiet, and soft spoken despite his size.
