  1. I was making the suggestion as a limited-time thing, which would bridge the gap between 'new world, everyone starts over' and 'bring your things with you' - Make the original Aegis so hellish that people are going to have to be pretty dedicated to actually get their stuff. Convey a sense of urgency, and force people to try and escape as quickly as possible. They can return for more of their things, but with the plugin I suggested you can alter a world to have some pretty gnarly things in it and no resource drops (because the world is dying) - in addition, I think it would be cool to let the world get more and more corrupted, perhaps - Let the world die in a 'minecraft' kind of way. Like I said, just a suggestion.
  2. So, I have an idea and a suggestion. Not sure how useful it is, or how feasible it is based on hardware, but try and hear me out. A while back, a friend of mine had a server where he played around with different bukkit plugins (are we still using bukkit?) Anyway, he had this plugin which allowed nether portals to not only lead to the nether, but also to -alternate worlds- http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/admn-gen-info-tp-rpg-myworlds-v1-24-multi-world-plugin-with-a-touch-1317.31718/ Anyway, with this plugin you could have the two worlds run in co-existence. Give the players incentive to move to the new world, by gradually ripping the world to shreds with lava and other nasty undead things. It lets people bring over some of their gear, and if they want to get back to their old-world homes, they have to brave a near-nether level of hellish torment. Thoughts?
  3. *James Arkensald stumbles into town amidst a snowstorm, with a cart full of wheat* I've just arrived at Alstion for a brief supply run. I have a fully inventory of wheat and a stack of 60 mushroom stews. They are yours, if someone in charge of the city can come in game and collect them. EDIT I've placed the supplies in a chest near the front ((Thanks to coconuta for the help)), and it contains a full inventory of stacked wheat, as well as a stack of 60 mushroom stews (Don't eat the stew in a stack, you'll eat all of it at once and lose the whole stack.))
  4. James Arkensald, of the family Arkensald (of course) has lived in Alkhazar his entire life. Bright, friendly and somewhat of a jack-of-all-trades, James has spent the majority of his life dawdling from one project to another. His father left him some slight inheritance, although this sum of minas is the source of his current lifestyle - Once the money dries up, he will be forced to settle into a profession, or at least a job of sorts. He has kept to himself for the majority of his life, simply because he has not wanted to get in the way of other people. A strange man, living in a world of heroes and monsters. To want nothing more than to live and experience all that Aegis has to offer - Though this wish may be fulfilled in unexpected ways. He is not against taking up the sword to protect others, nor is he against acts of subterfuge and mischief to fight the ever-encroaching boredom of having no heroic adventure or goal. Though, perhaps he will locate such a thing during his travels in Aegis. This land is, after all, fraught with wonder and danger in equal measure. ((More on Arkensald's adventures as they happen))
  5. Good evening, one and all. James Arkensald, at your service. Not... Entirely sure what I'm going to do with my life. I figure, world's a pretty exciting place, so I'll figure out what path I'll take as the ground reaches my feet. Mayhaps I'll travel, mayhaps I'll fight. Mayhaps, even, I shall settle down and get drunk with the rest of you. I don't like the idea of keeping my options limited. I'll be more than happy to do odd jobs and the like, so if there's anything anyone needs, I'm sure I'll be around. Don't be expecting any charity from me, though - Unless I'm in a singularly good mood - we all have to make our way in the world, after all.
