    X.) CONCLUSION

In this essay, I have established my contention that the religion of the elves of ancient Malinor was a monotheistic one, centered around the worship of the Creator and the instruction of Availer, while also containing several syncretic elements from both pre-Aspectist proto-druidism and the Cloud  Temple monks. I have charted the history of this religion, which I have called Acaelanism, and documented how it integrates with the other elven confessions, chiefly Aspectism. I have also speculated as to the continuation of Acaelanite practices into the modern era. Further research should be conducted as to what form these traditions take at the time of writing, if they have been continued at all, and whether an unbroken connection can be drawn between the dogmas of any modern elven ethnoreligious group and the heritage of the Acaelanites of the Holy Princedom of Malinor.

"This is a very fascinating paper. I am of an old family, and would care to shed light straight from the teachings of my very youth. My father, Midnus Anarion, was one of many founders of the now ancient Laurelin, but his story did not begin there. He predates the city by a few hundred years, at his count, as does our family. At this time, the family record keeping has him at fourteen-hundred years of age or so, but he resides in the Eternal Forest.

Due to the matter of his location, I am unable to present you with a primary source, but am able to present you a secondary one, myself. Although, it should be mentioned that it is possible to summon him to speak with you directly using the druidic arts.

Anyway, onto some brief content that I would adore to speak more of, as the early history of our people is of interest to myself. As it was reported to me, and as I was raised, Aeriel was the primary god of the land. There are eye witness accounts, including by my father, of seeing her guide the descendants in war against Ibleese. Availer, while living, appeared to be some keeper of a seal on the void. A prophet who spoke of Aeriel and her importance, while ensuring none could breach and release magic into the world at large. However, there was a moment where this seal appeared to break. This allowed the presence of the undead, the ascended, and the druids. Availer appeared to undo this seal himself, appearing before the people of the realm, including my father, before disappearing.

However, this is just a piece of this puzzle. These are simply the beliefs surrounding Laurelin and the first druids. With the releasing of the god of Courage and the rediscovery of templarism, it is clear our picture of the early eras are still very imperfect. I would love a chance to share with you the family story that we have, passed down through the lips of a man almost older than the time we keep.

    - Lily Helenson-Anarion, Daughter of Malinor."

Lily sat on the edge of the bed in her room at the Anarion manor, speaking to Utaria as rubbed her temples.
"The worst stress of being leader again is writing and knowing others will read of it things so far from my intent as to draw the statement into a caricature of itself. Lives will sit on the line, old methods pulled from the days of hiding in politics from an empire looking for a reason, and yet there will be no celebration for a task most mournful and sad."
With that she would scoot up the bed, lying back and placing a pillow on her face.
"When I am free of this once more, I will sing with joy."

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Paladinism

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Paladinism, a [3] slot holy magic bestowed upon descendants by the Aengul Xan, serves to maintain Order and combat darkspawn. This divine magic, fueled by Xan’s mists, empowers its practitioners with abilities involving healing, curse-purging, item enchantment, and both defensive and offensive spells. Its greatest potency lies in countering darkspawn and draconic entities.

A paladin's sacred duty is to safeguard the innocent from the malevolent forces in the world. Guided by Xan's Covenants (rules for his Paladins), one connected to Xan must refrain from engaging in descendant wars, harming innocents, attacking fellow paladins, aiding dark groups or creatures, and betraying Xan's gifts.

Upon completing their initial trials and connection, paladins are granted Embers, the source of their power. Each tier of Paladinism endows them with varying numbers of embers for spellcasting. When they deplete half of their embers, exhaustion sets in, and using all embers leads to unconsciousness. The order of ember gain goes 4 -> 6 -> 8 -> 10 -> 14 for the 5 tiers that Paladinism comprises.

Paladin mist colors, which symbolize their personalities and convictions, come in gold, silver, and emerald. A fourth, cobalt, is reserved exclusively for Xan and his keepers, used during connection and disconnection rituals.

Paladin’s spells encompass imbuing weapons with Xannic fervor, summoning mist-crafted weapons, creating protective barriers, laying traps, and crafting unique projectiles. As well Paladinism allows for sacred artificery, making it so paladins can bless and enchant objects with minor passive effects. Orisons alternatively allow a Paladin to imbue selected spells onto objects containing lightstones with which to infuse such an enchantment. Meanwhile with Sunwells, a ritual-based portion of Paladinism, one gains the ability to grant abilities like constant sunlight, contacting deceased paladins, or imprisoning entities within a Sunwell.

Paladin connection occurs through rituals at chanceries, categorized as shrines, temples, and sanctuaries (T1, T2, T3 chanceries). Advancing a chancery to the next tier requires connecting a specific number of students. At T2, chanceries can graduate T3 Paladins based on the trial they completed, either Vindicator or Wyrmstalker. To advance a T2 chancery to T3, a ritual must involve six unique paladins and the chancery's creator, accompanied by a sacrifice and reliquary.

Paladins possess the ability to purge curses from individuals and objects. The conditions for purging may vary, with event staff determining the specific requirements.

The biggest issue for Paladins lies in its vulnerability to voidal magics, causing damage to shields and barriers, particularly against higher-tier voidal spells. The presence of voidal horrors induces fear and weakens their abilities, rendering them unable to cast Lion's Roar. This effect extends to voidal hollows.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

There are two general different archetypes to Paladins, that being Vindicators and Wyrmstalkers. That being said, there are still generally alot more sections to the way that Paladinism is setup.

Mist Weaving - All paladins are able to achieve their base spells which come as a result of Mist Weaving. Derived from Xan's embers within Paladins, serve multiple purposes such as summoning, healing, attacking, and defending. They can enhance weapons and shouts and create images at higher tiers.

The Mist Weaving Spells that are available are: Purging, Xannic Fervor, Mist Healing, Sunlit Splint, Xannic Armaments, Sunlit Salvo, and Lion’s Roar.

Sacred Artificery -  The Paladin’s form of enchanting which is split up with Blessings and Orisons (and in extreme cases, Exaltations). Via etching runes and continuing one’s pious service to the Dawnfather, Blessings grant minor passive or active effects through spells or prayers, while Orisons are combat-oriented enchantments, allowing the creation of weapons and shields via the use of lightstones. This was spoken about in the question above in a bit more detail. Exaltations are made through the use of MArts.

Wyrmstalker - Paladins that undergo the Trial of the Hunt, becoming long-range damage dealers with lightning-infused mists. Their abilities include spells for trapping enemies, swift escapes, raining arrows, disabling magic, and Sunlight Spear for powerful strikes against darkspawn. In order to become a Wyrmstalker a Paladin must first go and hunt down a darkspawn.

The Wyrmstalker available spells are: Henryk’s Binding, Stalker’s Step, Sunlit Volley, Daybreak Spear, and Sunlight Spear

Vindicators - On the other hand, these Paladins excel in defense. They pass the Trial of Guardianship and focus on creating shields and supporting allies. Bulwarks that summons shields, spells for creating physical barriers, grappling and ensaring darkspawn, protects allies within a dome, and sharing Xannic fervor with allies. At the highest level Vindicator's Mantle offers pain reduction, heightened senses, or negation of strong hits. In order to become a Vindicator a Paladin must defend a fellow paladin or innocent within combat

The Vindicator available spells are: Guardian’s Bulwark, Vindication, Marian’s Refuge, Arknight’s Rally, and Vindicator’s Mantle as well as all other Mist Weaving spells.

Sunwells & Sunlit Sacrements -  Sunwells constitute a form of ritual magic within Paladinism, centered on the construction of a specific structure known as a sunwell. This sunwell acts as a central hub for various rituals, including those that enable Paladins to communicate with their deceased fellow warriors and those that provide the means to imprison entities within the sunwell's confines.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

    Daybreak Spear

Connection: Upon a moment of concentration, Vilta would go through and channel their mind. The body tensing and loosening for a moment, until inevitably emerald mists would begin to flow about their digits.

1st Emote: As the Anarion’s eyes narrow with deep contemplation, their outstretched hand begins to radiate with the collection of Xannic energy about them, the mists swirling around their fingers and forming into the outline of a small shimmering, ethereal spear.

2nd Emote: With a resolute moment of concentration, the Wyrmstalker channels more of their inner prowess, causing the radiant spear to grow in size to a proper spear and become less of a shimmering outline. It crackles with energy as it hovers before them, nearly fully prepared.

3rd Emote: Now focusing their thoughts on their sworn duty, Viltaren thrusts their arm forward as the energies seem to finally pull together perfectly, sending the spear hurtling towards its darkspawn target. The spear blazes through the air, leaving a trail of emerald light in its wake, on a collision course with the forces of darkness they look to target.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

    Xannic Armaments

A strange initiate seems to stand before their teacher, going on and fidgeting nervously with their digits. They seem quite anxious, not sure exactly what they’re doing here. “Erhmm.. Miss Anarion, I’ve been tryna practice contortion of mists in order to make a weapon but I’m having a bit of trouble. This stuff is all kindah complicated to me.”

The teacher in question, adorned with armor of a culture and order long gone, attempts to offer a reassuring set of advice. “Fear not, whilst daunting at first you will be able to achieve what you wish to attain with enough practice and focus. Start off by channeling your mists.”

The rather curious country bumpkin initiate nods and closes their eyes, taking a deep breath as they concentrate on their inner power. Slowly, their mists begin to gather around their hand, faintly shimmering with a familiar emerald hue

Observing the initiate's progress, the Anarion decides to encourage them. A knitted brow raising in surprise at such channeling.  "Good, that's it. Now, visualize the weapon you wish to manifest. Let your mists take its form and grab ahold of it."

The initiate nods again, their brow furrowing in deep concentration. Over the span of another emote, the mists gradually coalesce into the shape of a small, elegant dagger, matching the one the fledgling paladin had always favored it seems.

Impressed by the initiate's efforts, the teacher nods approvingly with what level of determination they can muster. "Well done young one. You've created your first Armament. Remember that it’s not about making the largest weapon, but honing your connection with your weapon in question. Now, practice controlling it and continue to use this spell outside of our lessons to ensure you properly grasp it."

With newfound determination, the silly little goofy fellow carefully wields the mist-made dagger, its weight feeling surprisingly real in their hand despite having not existed just moments prior. They make a few cautious swings, getting a feel for the weapon and chuckling as they nod to their teacher, prepared to practice in their time off.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

If done within the teaching process then it’s a matter of simply explaining to them where they’ve gone wrong. Telling them what to change for the future, and explaining to reference back to the lore in order to ensure problems don’t arise again. Mistakes are supposed to happen within the teaching process in order to ensure that a student wont make a blind mistake whilst outside of their lessons.

If something happened outside of teaching then I’d inform the player to void what they’re doing, tell them to correct what they’ve done, and give them a warning that should they not be careful in how they are emoting that I will have to report them to the ST.

  9. Oh there was another department head named Martin ( username Martinvilla822 ) and I don't remember what department he was a part of.

As for the original leader Martin, he stopped getting on for some reason and Bastion was second in command so things were just kinda handed off to him. Bastion lost interest so he decided when we moved to Asulon, The Holmes would not be reformed. beyond that there was a general feeling that things were coming to a close.

As for major events, theres not many that I remember, beside an attack on Susitsus castle I beleive.

  10. Hey, I was one of the department heads for more than a good chunk of time, up until the guilds end. The leader at the time of disbandment was Bastion ( username Lastchance3000 I believe ), and there was the warrior department ( run buy Bastion ), The subterfuge department ( run by me, Midnus Anarion. ), and there was a third that i cannot remember what it did but it was run by Lyle ( username Dr_Lyle/XERXES_XIII/Kalehart and more, he has a rather large number of accounts he uses. )

We've lost contact with Bastion, but I'm still good friends with Lyle, and I've asked him to come here and share what he remembers as well.

  11. Midnus snags one of the letters for a moment, frowning and reading through it quickly, only to be lost in memory as he thinks back to days long past where he helped found the first city Haelun'or. The frown twists into a smile and he mutters, " Its about damn time, who I chose to **** should never have had any bearing on weather or not I am a high elf."

Midnus signs the letter and sends it on its way. " Leader of the Holmes, Defender of Laurelin, Founder of Haelun'or, Midnus Anarion."

  12. When it comes to builders, I think Zarsies. He has the ability to turn My bumbling stupid descriptions into something far better than i had even imagined.

If you wish to see some of his work, Just go to holm. If it looks awesome, chances are he made it. This Sprat Is one of the greatest designers this man has ever seen, so it goes to show, The greatest gender is the sprat.

  13. MC NAME: doctordemento

    RP NAME: Midnus

    GENDER: Male

JOB/STATS: Builder, resident gay elf, worker coordinator.

    Have a home?: Yes

RACE: High Elf/Moon Elf ((Moon Elves are still The parental elf race but due to time of birth they have black hair pale skin and euphoria during the full moon))

  14. *sighs* These things are to be brought up before one is chosen for leadership. He is our leader now, that was chosen by our counsel. We have no reason to remove a citizen of Malinor as our high prince just because they are not entirely pure. we are elves, not bothered by petty information.

  15. Maybe it's like a global undead attack with them raiding and pillaging homes so you won't want to go to your house, mean while there is some other cataclysmic thing going on that makes you need to get on a boat and away from aegis so quick that it would be nice to have a time machine and leave two days prior but ya can't so you run, and then maybe you get mugged on the way to the boat and they let ya live but strip ya down, and then you get to the boat with what little you have left and the captain just grins his crooked with that one gold tooth grin and asks how badly ya want on the ship, you then finally sail away with what little material wealth and dignity you have left to a new paradise, as you shuffle off the boat with the masses your aching tired body fills with energy as you survey the new land and are filled with a new sense of hope and wonderment. This is where you will start again, you think to yourself, you'll earn it all back and be on top in no time! With that thought you depart from the Docks/Beach/other place in which your boat stopped and set out for adventure.

Edit: On a super realistic note though.. it is very very easy to make an event where we would have to flee and not take anything, look at history, The holocaust, the jews fled with what they had on their backs, they where being HUNTED, we could easily be hunted by the undead to the last living man, they wouldn't go to their house before trying to leave Germany, their neighbors most likely pointed them out and their house would be watched. Just imagine (if it makes you feel better about losing stuff) that this is one big serious event, life or death, all or nothing. If you don't flee and get on that last boat, you're dead, game over, flight over fight, your natural instincts would tell you to flee. Any character who would put material wealth before their own well being in a situation like this would most likely be mentally ill and obsessive compulsive of some sort. This situation would be like saying your house is on fire, you need to get out. You're not going to crawl through the smoke to find your keys, your wallet, and clothes and stuff, you're going to die if you stay so you're going to flee.

I Realy like this idea. no matter how nice my diamonds and stuffs are, I think this would be awesome and realistic. i realy wish there was a way to keep my books even if our invens are wiped.
