If that is what happened, then the Alrasians deserve more empathy, but at the same time, sitting in the shoes of the one orchestrating the betrayal; they could have easily feared the Alrasian lesser-skilled RPers attempt to metagame. I won't lie and say that I am an expert, but being objective and empathetic to both sides, I could imagine that if the GMs had to do a last-minute boat-dropoff location, the Alrasians OOCly may suspect something bad and intuitively may metagame.

You cannot justify destroying a possible great roleplay opportunity with attempting to prevent metagaming.

People will always meta of course. But me and every other Alrasian had no idea that Hanseti planned to betray us. It would have sounded like insanity to us! How could anyone have meta-ed something they did not know?

I never said they shouldn't, but Hanseti did collaborate with the GMs in terms of making a war claim, they staked their claim into this war, it is legitimate that they have a Roleplay-Change of Heart.

They made their intention of betrayal known to none - not even the GMs.

I would have welcomed us coming off the ship to greet our Hansetian allies, confused they were here before us. Some dramatic dialogue would have ensued, before the Hochmeister's face grew cold and he ordered the attack.

But that is not what happened.

Whether or not Hanseti chooses to deal with GMs, they must.

A Theory is defined by scientists as a hypothesis which has been tested, time and time again, peer-reviewed, modified, expanded and considered largely true by scientists. In comparison, the common usage of Theory is 'a possible explanation or idea'. In other words, the everyday usage of Theory is equivalent to the scientific usage of Hypothesis.

Calling Evolution a Theory is correct, but saying that it is 'just a theory' has no meaning. If the average person were to arrange stages of scientific ideas ('best' at the top) it would look like this:

But a scientist would arrange it like this:

When speaking about scientific ideas, this is the correct usage.

However, the Orcs have Alras, Hanseti, Renatus and more.

Anyhow, the pirates are one of the more interesting groups right now and this could have been some interesting role-play development.
