  1. MC name: Themastermoo IC name: Darbinian Why you wish to join the military: I have an adventurous spirit, and I want my start in a new home to be protecting king and country. What weapon you are most comfortable with (and your stats for swords, axes, archery, wrestling and smithing): I enjoy swordplay immensely, (My stats are; Swords: 20| Axes: 10| Archery: 20| Wrestling: 23| Blacksmithing: 5|) What military experience (if any) do you have: I trained under my father in aegis, I've had to battle dangerous wildlife since I've come to Asulon, but I've never been apart of any organization. Have you read and understood the military order and laws post? (Name one of the laws of high accord and the fines that can be imposed from it.) : I have, and heartily agree with all of it, and will dedicate my life to protect it! (Impersonation, it is a Median Law, can be charged 500-1500 minas fine, with up to 3 days of jail time imposed. If repeated more than twice, can be charged as a High Law.)
  2. I completely agree with you on your first paragraph, rpgs are very grindy, and for a reason, and thats a lot of fun in an rpg. But minecraft is not an rpg, its a sandbox game, and trying to restrict that into an rpg setting takes away some of the fun of minecraft. This is a role-playing server, not a role-playing game. Why should you take away the uniqueness of minecraft and turn it into a leveling progression? It just doesn't click to me. Skills don't add anything to the game that I can see, it only restricts. So now you have to rely on players to do the things that you don't want to put the time in for? I just don't see the point in that, why not just play skyrim if you want to grind. I've seen copycats and "tributes" to the big games like oblivion and world of warcraft pop up all the time. Their free, but they give you extra stuff for money, and they offer the same type of grinding experience the original game does, without the uniqueness of the original game. They never last, the only ones that last are the unique ideas. But digress... I don't want to see LoTC become just another grinding rpg spinoff in a world thats clearly not set up for traditional rpg grind.
  3. I've been against the skills from the beginning. Minecraft has enough progression in it naturally, why complicate that with a convoluted skill-tree? It ends up being very grindy, and even though you "discourage" it strongly. If you make something for people to use, and it tends towards one way, and you actually have to enforce that people don't do that, there's a problem with the product. The path of least resistance is inherent in all nature. If you want to add something to the experience, why go against the natural grain of the game? In the effort to make it more "realistic" you've taken away some of the fun of minecraft. I know this is a role-play server, but you can't forget this is a minecraft server too. This actually caused me to stop playing on the server when it was first introduced, every time I logged in, I felt like I had a chore to grind up my skills so I could do what I want. I ended up playing single player more than anything because it was more fun. I started playing when I found out that it had been removed. I'm not saying you should change the game according to my fun only, but I wanted to provide a voice for us players that find this upsetting, and keep in mind the game-changing nature of this decision. And the fun it detracts from the game.
  4. Application Out-Of-Character: -Minecraft Account Name: TheMasterMoo -How old are you?: 18 -Time-Zone/Country of Residence: -6:00 gmt, (Central Time Zone) / United States of America. -Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Me do good grammar. -Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm a guy who likes to play minecraft. I'm a big fan of Lord of the Rings, and have always loved role-playing, while I do have a difficult time role-playing in real-time, I can be pretty creative. I'm still not that great of a builder on minecraft, I do like it so I keep trying. -How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I don't know, at least 2 hours. -How long have you played minecraft?: About 4 months or so. -What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: When I was real small I used to play with knights and legos at the same time and pretend with them. When I was a a little older I liked to play with sticks as weapons and tools and creates worlds of my imagination with my friends (with storyline and characters and even sometimes plot). When I got older I switched to mmorpgs, at the same time doing forum role-playing. I've always been doing role-playing of some sort. -What do you expect this server will be like?: A lot of fun, I hope I can finally experience some free-form role-playing in a world of imagination and creation in a deep fantasy setting. I really hope there's not that much restriction on building and mining so I can build stuff that I want within reasonable bounds. -What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I played on Dangazzm, I left because my town disbanded, and that made me disappointed. I joined Gankcraft not too long ago, and I was somewhat happy there but then the area that people were housed in got reset and my house was gone. That made me kind of mad so I left there. I'm hoping I can make an online home here where I don't have to be afraid of logging in and my towns gone. -Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: The rules are fine. (The only one I'm not sure about is not destroying the landscape, I kind of like free-form building. But I will abide by it as long as I'm on the server.) The Lore is fascinating, its kind of like Lord of the Rings with Christian history mixed in with each other. I can't wait to create a character in this world of intrigue. -Name the 4 races on this server. Elf, Orc, Dwarf, Human. -How did you hear about us?: My friend, Kentheten started playing and told me about it. I logged on as a Soul-Wanderer and wandered around and liked what I saw. -What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name? Moo In-Character: -Character Name: MootheMighty -What is your Race?: Dwarf -Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account: Moo -Biography: MootheMighty -Character Age: 107 -Character Appearance: A mighty warrior is MootheMighty. He is abnormally tall for a dwarf, about 5-8, he is often mistaken for a human. He has black hair and beard. Never seen without his trusty axe and pickaxe, and dressed in his leather tunic. -Character Personality: A gentle soul and a fierce warrior, MootheMighty is a mysterious figure, and some might not even believe he is a dwarf if it weren't for the rugged beard and rough accent. -Your ambitions: To carve out my own niche in this large world. -Can your character read or write?: Yes, both. -Can your character mine?: He's a dwarf, I would sure hope so. -Are you a capable builder? Yes, just not all that creative. -Can you wield a sword?: Of course! -Enjoy Farming?: Not particularly. -Does your character have any special skills?:] -A screenshot of your skin: -Other Information:
