  1. Yeees... As a former Snowy Fields resident, things like "we can build up our defences" or "we could attack their fort" sound awfully familiar. Whatever happens, I wish you good luck.
  2. *clears throat* Ahem... not many of you seem to recognize the tactical advantages of this treaty. Most of Oren's available soldiers are currently stationed in and around Alstion, including representatives from other races' warrior guilds. This treaty assures the undead that their forts and bases won't get attacked by these armies and at the very same time, they can concentrate on invading any other town or city in Aegis with full force, since resistance will be limited or even crippled depending on where they strike next. *in a sarcastic tone* Well done!
  3. Undead making peace with the living? That's... new... Did you also invite them for a few rounds of ale so they could celebrate this great event with Alstion's inhabitants?
  4. Seen Grubb around a few times but that's it. No sign of the wizard or anyone else. Greenshire seems to be doing extremely well however. I'll be moving from Thistledown to a place where there is a lot more going on.
  5. This is quite a strange event. My constant travels have taken me back to Snowy Fields once again - I've a house there and visit that town as often as I can - and was "lucky" enough to be there with Grimbeard and the others, defending Snowy Fields but at one point the undead have broken through which I think was another turning point. Them shouting "Snowy Fields is already ours, clear off mortals!" affected the morale of men and women alike, I'm sure. ((On one hand, I applaud this event. It's superb how things change on this server and a small, hated group of undead can overtake a well developed town. They and their fortress wasn't just there for show, and it's nice to see that they have been given a chance (by themselves and by the other admins no doubt) to do something like this, instead of sitting there and killing/scaring off stragglers. That would be incredibly boring in the long run, especially for the undead players. I'm not one of them but I think they do deserve huge accomplishments like these and these things make Aegis less peaceful and a lot less boring (since the four main races don't generally wage war against each other). On the other hand, I feel sorry for the two lords of Snowy Fields (Zerragon and Tarannon) since they must've put weeks of hard work into their town. At least you had fun doing so, guys! You both have a positive attitude, and that should earn you a lot of respect - instead of ranting and leaving, you'll begin to create a new town. I'm sure you'll have tremendous fun building this new place, just think about how staying in one place, surrounded by the same old walls can become stale after a while ;) (The latter goes for the undead as well and this is one of the reasons why I'm happy they are able to expand like this)))
  6. ((At the end of the day, these three settlements could be merged but from what others have said, it's not like they're particlarly close together to begin with. I might venture out today to find Dunwood to back up this claim. Lym, what should I give to the NPC in my shop - a friendly hoe or the "ah knock ye teeth out!!" shovel? I know Frado would go with the shovel :D ))
  7. I just met Reex in Thistledown but mistook him for a traveller for he didn't talk the same way you little halflings do. And Frado, I'm with Lym on this. Losing you would be a great blow to the town ((you are a great RPer and have a really funny character)) Only a few of us are left then and I'm more of a quarterling than a halfling. Also opened a shop ((donated)) but obviously, there is no business. I'm afraid of newcomers as well, just like Lym is. Thank you for hearing me out, good halflings.

Out-Of-Character: -Minecraft Account Name: Ilsyde -How old are you?: 27 -Time-Zone/Country of Residence: GMT+0 / UK -Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: yes -Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm an experienced and friendly gamer who likes to chill out after work. Been playing all sorts of strategy games for almost two decades but nowadays I limit myself to titles that have a gripping story and atmosphere. -How much time could you be on the server weekly?: This really depends on what shift I'm working on that particular week. Could be anything from 6 to 20 hours. -How long have you played minecraft?: Since last October if I'm not mistaken. I was already playing for a few weeks when the Halloween update got released. -What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: I know what RP is from pen&paper games and paying attention when other people roleplay. Can't say that I have several years of experience but I'm familiar with most rules and find the whole aspect of it fascinating. -What do you expect this server will be like?: Hopefully full of life, loads of things to do and populated with RP fans who don't want to ruin the immersion for others. -What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I started on Vanillacraft then moved to Herocraft that had more depth and a few role play elements. Most of my time wasn't spent building structures but helping the online community and the staff. I became a mod then an admin but several months ago my personal life got a bit hectic which forced me to leave the scene but now I'm back and decided to treat myself to a hardcore RP server for a change. -Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: Yes, of course. Also read the lore and used it to help me finish my character's biography. -Name the 4 races on this server: Humans, dwarves, elves and orcs. -How did you hear about us?: forum search -Did you vote?: Yes, although minecrafttoplist told me I already voted today. -What was your favourite Law?: As much as I despise griefers, players who mindlessly kill others or use modified clients to fly around the map, my favourite rule has to be the one that forces everyone to stay IC. I find this exceptionally important since it makes LotC unique, sought after and is the driving factor for people to join and stay on this server. -What was your least favourite Law?: One of the biggest problems for us were small groups of players who eventually decided to leave larger cities in favor of starting their own towns. Most of these people then lost their enthusiasm, leaving the map with lots of ghost towns while also hurting the large cities since they left those to become independent instead of helping them grow. All in all, I'm hoping that the laws for creating settlements are restrictive enough to prevent this from happening. -What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name? Ilsyde In-Character: -Character Name: Fae -What is your Race?: human -Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account: Ilsyde -Biography: Fae hails from one of the small fishing villages on the outskirts of Liannon. The lush forests and fields have always been infested with goblins but as years passed, the skirmishes have gotten even more frequent than ever. On a rainy summer night, Fae's parents - Tanara and Vilnon Brannon - were forced to flee the town along with their friends and livestock. The militia at Liannon was strong enough to repell the never-ending goblin attacks and this is where Fae's family has finally found some refuge. Since everyone had to take part in defending the settlement, she was enlisted in the militia under the command of lieutenant Celen Fell. However, unlike the lieutenant and all other female soldiers, Fae wasn't cut out to be a swordswoman. Not long after she completed her training, Shan Muir the town healer asked Celen whether the girl could leave the militia and help her instead. More and more elves and dwarves visited her hut and the constant fighting between the two races left the healer with little time to practise her trade. Fae was told to keep the peace between the dwarves and elves and to learn as much as she can from them. She found immense joy in listening to their stories and wild tales about far away lands. Ironically, her flexibility and talent in dealing with the non-human races also roused the interest of Sartarius, the commander of Greyfell's military forces and once again Fae was forced to join the army with her parents' blessing. The Order of Dawn, the feared military force of the great human city of Greyfell had little need for an unskilled footsoldier. Instead, Sartarius trained Fae in handling the bow so she could support the troops when patrolling the city walls and the area. To make full use of her skills and talents, Fae was asked to explore and scout the surrounding lands under the protection of a handful of human knights, elven archers and dwarven warriors. She quickly earned the respect of the other races in her group and proved to be exceptionally good in thoroughly exploring and mapping the land. There were also times when her intervention stopped the elves and dwarves from jumping at each other's throat. One day, Fae and her small party was tasked to venture far beyond the horizon, to Leafshade, one of the sacred cities of the elves and deliver a sealed package. No human - or dwarf, for that matter - was ever allowed into that place but Sartarius knew that Fae became well known among the other races and if the high princess would allow a human to enter their forest, it would be her. The knights, and especially the dwarves weren't pleased with this new quest but out of respect towards Fae, didn't want to leave her on her own. Just as they reached the mountain river separating the human kingdom from the forests of Leafshade, a cave orc raiding party attacked Fae's unit and killed most of them. The orcs massacred the elves and most humans but were eventually overwhelmed by the dwarves. Only Fae and several others have survived the onslaught. They fled into the sacred forest where the orcs didn't have the guts to follow them. Sinwen Whiteleaf, the commander of Leafshade's elven forces wasn't pleased at all when see saw dwarves in her forest and surrounded the soldiers with her finest elven archers. Fae was able to convince her to let the dwarves go instead of slaughtering them on the spot. Sinwen reluctantly agreed and so the party was disbanded, human and dwarven survivors were forced to flee the forest and return to Greyfell once again. Except for Fae, for she was taken to the elven city of Leafshade to see the high princess. She was overjoyed to be among the elves in their secluded city and quickly became friendly with a group of hunters who were telling her about a magical land called Aegis that is unreachable by normal means and especially to mortals. On that night, the arch druid himself approached her. He told Fae that regrettably, the high princess can't see her but is very grateful for the package Sartarius has sent. However, no outsiders are allowed to stay with them longer than necessary. The arch druid offered to teleport her back to human land. She glanced at the great trees of Leafshade, into the distance then at the elven hunters who have gathered around a large hut. Fae told the druid that instead of Greyfell, Liannon or any other known human settlement to her, she wants to see and explore the land of Aegis. The arch druid told Fae that travelling such a great distance by magic is risky for any mortal, for she will likely end up in the Cloud Temple which is a good distance from the nearest human village, while also suffering from a temporary memory loss. Fae knew that this experience would be worth the cost and asked the arch druid to make the preparations... -Character Age: 27 -Character Appearance: Above average height, slender build, long brown hair. -Character Personality: Extremely friendly towards all races but doesn't trust orcs and is generally afraid of them. Fae is good natured, reliable and leans towards the chaotic good alignment. -Your ambitions: Explore the world of Aegis and the human settlements, have dwarven and elven friends. Make a living that doesn't involve fighting other races or being a merchant and venture into orcish lands. -Can your character read or write?: yes -Can your character mine?: yes -Are you a capable builder? No, even though I love architecture. -Can you wield a sword?: Yes, knights thought me the basics and some tricks but I'm not very skilled. -Enjoy Farming?: Yes, gathering or producing resources is a useful way to spend time. -Does your character have any special skills?: Fae is an experienced explorer and can quickly adapt to other races and to their culture. -A screenshot of your skin: -Other Information:
