No one knew what happened to the guy, but I suppose he had a reason to leave me and my mother alone. My mother, Helen was kind and nice. She would read me stories every night before I went to sleep. Until of course, when she passed away. I was 7 when she caught a disease, the day after she was lying in the yard dead. I didn't have many friends, I only had one great friend, Tessa. She was an elf, we were both 8 years old when we became friends. We used to play near the lake, we were always told it was dangerous, but we had so much fun there, we built a tree house that we used to tell each other scary stories, swing on the rope from one side of the lake to another. I was 19 when she fell in the lake, I jumped after her to try to help her. I was weak and helpless and the stream was too strong, I remember her staring in to my eyes like she knew she would die. I didn't have any friends after that. My uncle took care of me, he had only 1 daughter who treated me like a slave.
