community votes dont matter evidently, voted to remove nexus + go back to 1.8 but ofc if devs devote enough time and effort into something it just HAS to stay on the server, bugs lag and rp be damned

There was no vote to go back to 1.8, I think there was poll for 1.8 combat. Staying in previously, old versions would hurt more. People don't want to have to downgrade to a legacy version.

clarification: You should always take screenshots of your RP items before doing any of this plugin stuff just in case

also I have no opinion on skills but I will bluntly say

I don't come here to grind.

    None of us do.

People have been insanely aggressively pushing for, no nexus, no grind, grind isn't fun, skills are dumb.

Considering that, what the heckaroni is the problem with giving out free exp points, especially if we hopefully will have nexus removed in the future anyways? It'll help players get set up on the new map ASAP, it'll make building settlements easier, it'll help prevent time being WASTED on grinding (if you have time to waste on grinding go for it on top of the free exp, some of us have better things to do). it'll prevent people who have hours and hours of time to grind getting an RP leg-up on people who don't, and who come to the server just to RP.

Maybe 150k each persona is too much. Maybe we can look at stacking it based on persona play time? Maybe it can be lessened? idfk.

But I think there should be enough exp given out for non-specialized people to get high enough in stoneworking/woodworking/whatever the **** else, that they can be self-sufficient and at least get a job helping build places up.

Can confirm I come here to role-play not grind. Any "skills" I have are purely because I was trying to do what you normally can in minecraft(break blocks, make blocks, etc) or because it was "automatic" because all you had to was stand near what was happening(Breeding). I just want to relax, feels to me too many games are trying to make themselves survival(needing food, water, etc) and have crafting. It becomes tiresome(even though minecraft is basically that even without our plugin/mods- Just don't have to grind skills in vanilla.

You seem to believe that the devteam is on our team, Squirtgun.

It's painful to see how oblivious they seem to be. What good use will these wipes even be? Half the server will be grinding away the rest of august and this silly little compensation just undermines the whole thing. Either you wipe it clean and don't give us anything or you don't wipe anything.

I see it as middle ground type thing. Trying to work with people who wants complete wipes and those who don't.

This community can be hard to please.

my question is, why do the dark elves still not have a proper land? There is land for the welves and helves but none for delves. Also Oren has fairly large land once again.... I'm excited to see Urguan and Sutica, and tbh the whole new map ^_^ The above is just my curiousity and frustration that the delves still dont have land

Probably because dark elves lack a community to have their own land. To be honest, I'd rather see all elves live within the same area.

What's the red on the map? It's not documented in the key.

I believe it was said to be spawn, somewhere in the the many pages of this topic, or in another topic. I don't remember where exactly.

  5. Also I want to point out that a race that is really meant for the map their introduce in would be a good idea. Meaning that because they really don't follow the rest of playerbase to the different world and islands. I mean I guess this could happen as long as interest them was still high. And if they do follow us to different maps, as soon as they start dwindling in numbers(Only like 5 people actually play them), lock the race. Once the last of them die, they are extinct and that race is no longer a optional race.

That way we don't end up another propose race that after some time basically dies out(Kinda like the Kha now, only see maybe 2-3 people who actively play them).

Sounds harsh(To me at least) but, it is a good idea that again- doesn't allow for a "new race" to linger around with lack of interests. Really only for the "new races" though. I doubt people want to see the possible core races(Core to the server lore) dying off.

  6. On the subject of new players;

If they don't get integrated in a group of people they are very unlikely to stay around.

This is true in not only here but, anywhere else. A person stays for the people that they meet. If they fail to meet anyone they might only stay at most a week before leaving.

I personally enjoy having the world fully protected, I like see the world clean. I am here for the roleplay. Not to build, not to grind skills but for PURE roleplay. We don't need free land building to encourging roleplaying. Just people more willing to roleplay. And not robbery rp, friendly or slightly hostile. People who aren't stuck in their cliches they have formed.

  7. I started back in Aegis and it was really a crazy time... To me at least.

One of the first days, I had met up with some strangers and then went to some druid who gave us a quest to go north to a place called Snowy Fields. There we would aid the people of Snowy Field against the constant battle against the Undead. And the feeling of being in the area always made you feel like something was about to happen.

To be honest, that's all I can really remember due me not actually having the greatest memory but, that is what always sticks out.

Really as people said, it was a simple time back then. It was only minecraft beta, builds weren't the best(decent at best), options to build were a small palette, time travelled between cities and towns was small thus there being roads and road signs and road roleplay. Everything started close for the most part and built outwards as we went along. Bad buildings because everywhere but, no one at the time truly cared since we were all still getting used to minecraft. I mean there was a giant circle of cactus that went to the sky limit in the desert? that you'd walk by going to like Al'khazar.

Times were simple. RP wasn't the best but, had meaning. Really didn't see wars unles you were in the fight against Iblees and the undead.

  8. As said in many posts before me, this is a bad idea. It has never been a good idea.

It doesn't promote roleplay whatsoever. Just encourages people to be hermits or create another place for themselves in which they can keep their items. This won't bring back road roleplay either. To bring back road roleplay, there is tons of other factors that need to considered and executed. None of them actually include "free building".

Also instead of devoting time to cleaning up some terrible idea of a free build idea, we get people to clean up regioned areas that aren't used, inactive or just don't have the player population to support them? That's a better idea. It would create less places for people to be, or to be looking at for roleplay.

Also a good way to create roleplay would be to, I don't know? Have a smaller map? I'm not saying a small map but a map that doesn't allow tons of fast travels yet isn't too big to walk around and be able to walk to different towns and cities(Also what could be an effective way at creating road roleplay).

I usually don't comment on apps. But, I comment on this one; because I have noticed you before. And I have noticed you for one critical reason: Your profile is devoid of any content on who you exactly are. I can only presume you have changed your minecraft name— since you've been here since 2011 and I've never heard of you ever.

    If so... Who are you?

Original MC name was Glylith. If you look far enough back there is stuff that I've posted. Other than that I never have been someone that is well known, generally around the smaller groups of people(Find it more manage-able). Doesn't mean I am against talking to others and such.

#What is something you have always wanted to change on the server?:
This is a hard question in the sense that there can be what I deem needs to be fixed but, necessarily doesn't need a fix. That and for the most part not much(otherwise I'd probably be long gone and never returned again). Though what I deem needs fixing is the population of races. We got so many different things people can play as(some aren't really a race per say). What I feel is there is some races that lack people due everyone wanting to be special with a "special" race. Which is silly since you can be "special" if you work with what is already provided and be creative. As much as people may hate this idea but, maybe and I mean just maybe get rid some things people can play as. What that could entail, I don't know yet.

Two things combined into one because they kinda go together in my opinion. Fast travels and settlements. As much as taking that fast travel carriage is fun and quick, I think it kills some of the spur of the moment roleplay you could get on the road(Which isn't always bandit... because that would be dumb if almost everyone on the road was a bandit). Along with these fast travels, I notice that we got tons of places that seems like people have given up on and really overall creates an scar on the world that voided of anything roleplay. I think we need charters to help prevent soo many places popping up.

I also remembered that I think what is also needed is a better way for "Villain" roleplay to be moderated per say. Because frankly it's too easy to decide "Hey, banditry seems like fun." Or something along those lines. I think people need some direction when it comes to that kind of stuff like an actual backstory. After all roleplay is all about the story. Again, not sure really how to go about doing something with that at this time but, if seems like it could be done I feel as if others will pitch in and make sure it's good.

#What is something you would like to change on the game moderator team?:

More activity at all times of the day from the game moderator team. You know just doing the job that they've(I've?) signed up for.

    #What are your finest qualities?:
Pretty Relaxed, I solemnly get upset these days.
Fast learner, anything you throw at me I probably can learn quickly. Though be wary because I do like to ask questions if I am not sure about something.
Hands on - Really this goes with the learning thing with some guidance and hands on stuff I can learn quickly.
Forgiveness, I can often easily forgive people for stuff they may do and cause an argument. Due to this I do not hold grudges against anyone(hardly, there have been very rare cases but none are currently here in LotC).
General people person, granted due to be antisocial sometimes I have difficulties understanding people sometimes etc.

#What are your worst qualities, and how could you improve these aspects?:
I can pretty lazy, in which isn't hard to fix, just need a will to do stuff. Which is how anything in general works.
My humor, can be very horrible and mean. Generally that humor doesn't come out unless I feel like I know you enough. Though I'd like to improve on that bit of humor and make it better for people. Which is doable by not saying horribly (not funny things that I may find funny oddly enough).

#What members of the Staff could you look to for guidance?:
Honestly, I'm sure any will do. I find that different people bring some of the same and yet some different things to learn from them.

#Who do you not get along with on the current team?:
I probably get along with everyone. I hardly keep grudges and what not.

#How much free time do you have? Will this change in the foreseeable future?:
Tons most likely, aside from having real life errands to attend to here and there and maybe emergencies. However, I do not think this will change.

Yes, but my chest did not break and they are locked.

    That's not what he meant?

He meant the plugin messes up. Just modreq it, you'll end up needing to relock chests but beats not being able to access them.

  12. Interesting to me because I like to build in my freetime(Not the best but, at the very least, decent. An idea that that can expanded upon).

I'd like to see that you'll get the grounds that you can properly work with.

Again just interesting to me. If you're only looking for some the best then okay. I'll just leave this here though.

I know no one wants free build and that's fine, but we still need small farm houses/taverns along the roads, it would attract a lot of road RP. The only FT's should be boats/carts to get to each island.

I think most people want to see the overall size of the map and the sizes of the island before determining anything.

However, I also think that fast travels should be limited. Also allow taverns and stuff to pop up on their own over time. Don't need to be there straight off. Though I do hope we get more roadside taverns and only that; no town with it. Maybe some farm land.
